Born at a very early age in Hillingdon Middlesex England in 1953 and grew up in Hayes, very close to London airport.
I've been interested in illustration since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I even went to Art School until the money ran out and the temp job became permanent. I wanted to study animation, but also had to live, so I became a computer programmer, and was successful at it. I finally sold my Indonesian communications business and retired here last year, and have concentrated on 3D illustration since then. I find that knowing what goes behind the scenes in these programs is a great help, and of course I'm not frightened by complexity.
My influences have been many and varied, but right now I am a big fan of the pin-ups of Gil Elvgren from the mid 40's and 50's. I couldn't talk about illustration without mentioning Mort Drucker, who was a huge childhood influence on me. Generally the second world war and the 15 years following it generated some astounding artists, and my long-term plan is to get good enough to generate objects, figures and clothing from that era.
A fairly low-resolution Sci Fi off-duty hairdo for V4 from the UFO TV series.Made by Gary Sayers in Blender. There is a fit for my Lt. Ellis head morph included in the Pose directory.Gabrielle Drake (Lt. Ellis) head morph available here:http://www.sharecg.com/v/50270/browse/11/Poser/V4-Gaby-Drake---Lt.Ellis-Morph-by-GSayers2005There are many more UFO related items for Poser on ShareCG, mainly by JoEtzold, so check them out. There are shader settings for Poser and Daz Studio to get you started, but I highly recommend you play with the Specularity and Bump settings to get the effect you want as results really depend a lot on your lighting. I'd like to say a big thanks to Joachim Etzold who made it Poser friendly, and has helped me so much on this and other things.
