My real name is Waldemar Barkowski, I was born on 06/12/1952 in Düsseldorf, Germany. I graduated in Graphic Design / Visual Communication in 1977 in the production of a toon film, painting each frame by hand, it was a pain in the a... to draw `n paint back then. Over the years I have done so many different things, I don`t want anyone to get bored, in short: freelance work as a layout artist, airbrush illustrator, art director, cartoonist, 3D designer (yes - building real things with real tools ;o)). Also freelance artist and (space-)rock musician. The latter brought me into 3D graphics and video work, as I was the one who took care of our band's stage shows. Much of my Bryce stuff on the web was part of these virtual journeys... In the meantime I had really learned to love Bryce and many other nifty tools. Well - there is no "big philosophical background" to my work and life, but there is one: We are all born into our places to learn and to serve as best we can, even if we don't understand the meaning of it, just that we have more to learn. We are responsible for our thoughts and actions, for our children (even if I don't have any), for our environment, for our next ones. Avoiding war begins in our own brains, the power of OUR minds is a building block for all these forms in our 3D real world. Fighting for peace and freedom must never be done with weapons, never. Our weapon is CREATIVITY! Let us boldly go where no one has gone before! Have fun! :D

Following several requests from Bryce users (yes, there are still some! ;.), I am uploading all my Bryce freebies here again, as all links to my entries posted there are now obsolete after the unfortunate end of ShareCG.
In order not to get out of hand, all topics are now grouped into collections.
This is the complete collection of previously published Bryce objects on the subject of ‘Alien Technology’. It also includes some previously unpublished objects. It is recommended to test which of them are suitable for close-ups, as many have been modelled with terrains.

You`re welcome. :-) Yep, I loved to dive into terrain modelling then as those new possibilities were simply too cool. Sometimes I use it yet today, though the terrain editor in Vue is much more stable. Bryce kicks off each time you try to export a terrain as .obj file that is bigger than 1024 in resolution. Meanwhile I got tools like 3D Coat as a brilliant alternative for ZBrush (which I felt a bit too expensive ;-) )

I feel that "terrain modelling" in Bryce sort of predated Zbrush sculpting (which is, of course, much more nuanced ; also I think Amorphium appeared a bit earlier than Zbrush, and maybe there were others), while DTE does same to what you see in Substance Designer (which used to be called MaPZone back in days). Which I find interesting, as it seems that Bryce was pioneer in more fields than just landscapes :D Thank you for alien tech models, now I need to re-watch some good old movies to get inspired and try things in Bryce.
