Welcome, akorinsikenkoy. :-) I used the older ones first in the terrain editor of Bryce quite a while ago and eventually in Vue. If you use the clamp function to separate a certain range of the heightfield (which makes the specified region transparent) you can yield awesome results. Have fun!
