The Baton Rouge is an old non-canon design featured prominently in the 1979-80 Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology, and then adopted by the Star Trek RPG created by FASA, and featured in a few novels and comics. It's a predecessor of the Constitution class by roughly 20 years, entering service in the 2220s (the Spaceflight Chronology timeline is kinda wonky). Designed by Rick Sternbach (who would later design many ships for TNG, DS9 and Voyager).
