Will this get a Genesis 9 update?

DeirdreStorm 12:26PM | Sun, 30 January 2022

Thank you. Very kind of you to make this available.

Excellent, thank you so much for sharing :) And I was very surprised that this procedure also works very well for Genesis 8 ;)

Tucan-Tiki 5:04AM | Thu, 18 March 2021

Daz Studio is great program the only reason I prefer poser over Daz studio is the UI Posing a figure just seems cumbersome compared to the freedom you have in poser, I wish Daz would change this, If they reworked it I wouldn't be trying to get figured into Poser as often because I wouldn't feel I needed to.

Tucan-Tiki 4:33AM | Thu, 18 March 2021

Export the hair as prop and parent it in poser after you apply the textures again the hair should retain all it's original groupings and uv you will just have to look for the textures and reapply them. Otherwise your going to get a dancing wig show

Tucan-Tiki 4:23AM | Thu, 18 March 2021

One more fix you need to know if your having trouble getting clothes to fit in poser from Daz Studio just apply clothes on Daz Studio then run the transfer utility then export the clothes they will fit your character with no issues because the transfer utility will apply all morphs from the figure to the clothing which is what your missing if you exported them without doing that first and found they wouldn't fit or that the JCM's were messed up.

Tucan-Tiki 4:08AM | Thu, 18 March 2021

Thank you for taking the time to effort to creat this, I haven't tried the 2.0 version yet But my experience has been that once you export a figure by dson you have to completely dress the figure from scratch every time you use it or poser either rewrites the figure file and causes it to become corrupt somehow sabotoging the figure if you resave the figure or resave it as either a cr2 or pz3 it will either end up spagettified and streached out or the clothing will will get corrupted and crumble on the figures chest area, or you may even end up with a black figure with all the UV's corrupted or a figure outline or find deleting dson figures in the scene crash poser 11. My work around has been not to resave the figure from dson export folder and definitely not with any attachments including hair, Props, Textures or clothing items, You basically have to dress the figure each time until it's ready to render if you save it as a character it's eventually going to become corrupt. I think poser does not understand the JCM's and does some kind of edit when you try to save a genesis 3 or 8 figure causing a miscommunication issue with dson which wreaks the figure in several different ways that are susceptible. I am hoping this update solves that issue

A little update . . . some of the maps have to be applied manually . . . but that's okay. Also, I see the converter allows for the actual pz2 files but I am not seeing how to do it. Is there a tutorial for this? Overall I am very happy with this. :0D

Tristia01 1:54PM | Sat, 01 August 2020

First . . . THANK YOU!!!!! This does work. I don't know about Mac, but mine worked with Windows. This is not for a real lightweight though, you need to pay very close attention to the details like what directory it's supposed to be going in. At first, it didn't work . . . and then I tracked it and re-tracked it until I was sure everything should line up and . . . it did! You don't know how I wanted to focus my projects in Poser - even to the point of re-rigging DAZ characters (now that's a pain). So many of my new models are DAZ only. (Growl). But - there's more, this doesn't just work for Gen 3 and 8 . . . I got my T-Rex 3 in with no problem too. And I'm still laughing over that one. I have a load of stuff to transfer. If you have issues with additional files . . . just search for them. I'm still poking around for additional maps, etc., but who cares, I got the model into Poser and it basically works. I have missed Poser sooooo much. And now (with this) I'm finally free of DAZ Studio . . . again. thank you!!! :0D

ATILLART 6:49AM | Sat, 20 June 2020

It mentions in the description "Mac issues/incompatibilities" Perhaps one of these might be that the download file only contains an exe and msi file for install which only works on a PC. Perhaps "Mac issues/incompatibilities" could be replaced with "only works on a PC".

alex1296 3:20PM | Mon, 04 May 2020

A big thank you to Willdial you are great!, finally I can use genesis 3 in poser 11, I had only one minimal problem, the program genesis 3 poser updater is using points to separate decimals, and in my country we use the comma to separate them, so I just edited the "Genesis3PoserUpdater.exe.config" file on the installed directory of this program, the multiply factor instead of 0.30 to 0,30 so that the expresions don't explode due to the decimal numbers, and thats how its solved, so far everything awesome guys, THIS WORKS! Im happy, greetings!

Bomgojoe 12:32PM | Sun, 29 March 2020

this does not work.

Bomgojoe 12:31PM | Sun, 29 March 2020

I'd love to see the directions on getting this to work on the Mac with Poser 11!

paul_gormley 5:28AM | Sat, 14 September 2019

A belated thanks to Lululee and Willdial for all their hard work in not only making this possible, but spreading the word too. I download WINE from and using this and Willdial's Windows scrips managed to get this working in the Poser Pro 11 beta. I have a number of screenshots explaining the process if any Mac Users are interested. Not sure where to post them so feel free to buzz me if you'd like the explanation and I will send a zip file. I enclose jpg of the expression working. Cheers, Paul ![Expressions.jpg](

mercutioaquarius 6:57AM | Sat, 03 August 2019

The G3 figure works perfectly.. until dressing. When she get an upper clothing (T shirt), the pose file affects only the cloth. (No, I'm not stupid, the figure's body is selected). Somehow the cloth get the bodyparts' names. In the hierarhy editor most of the bodyparts disappear from the figure and apper under the cloth. I delete the cloth, apply the pose and reload the cloth. Not perfect, but works, however it's wearing, and every time I must refine again. The other big problem is the hair. When I load a hair, it fits automatically to the character, and move together all the bodyparts But when I apply a pose, the hair is screwed. ![error.jpg](

awwww, darn it. I have Poser Pro 11 game dev edition. Still nice work! ^_^

JAG 5:06PM | Sat, 24 February 2018

Update: This only works for POSER 11. According to Willdial it does not work in Poser10/GameDev or previous versions. Since the majority of her morphs work, I'm stumped as to why certain ones do not. For instance her mouth will open, but lips will not smile. That seems odd. If anyone finds a workaround that works, please share with us.

JAG 2:29AM | Sat, 24 February 2018

I ran into numerous problems with the PDF instructions for this and finally figured out the "invisible" figure is due to you not having the **RUNTIME** from **DAZ** added to your Poser directories. Try that fix for those of you who had the issue. I am now able to use her in Poser Game Dev 2014 but her expressions will still not work. I've run Will's script various ways and it says its working but the figure remains unchanged. I've emailed Will about it - but does anyone else have similar issues and maybe a fix for it?

DevDante 11:24AM | Sat, 18 November 2017

SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEMS: First of all, thank you for sharing this amazing work. Second, I'm posting this here because I also had a lot of difficulty getting this to work, and I hope this helps someone else. Here's a link to a webinar where the entire process is explained: The solution for my own problem (I could load G3, but had had an invisible figure and couldn't do anything with it) was the fact that the Poser DSON importer gets floopy if it has to load data from multiple runtime locations. And since it needs data from both the new figure you created and the original Daz genesis figure, it starts to go wrong if you have completely different runtime locations. The full explanation on how to fix this starts at around 9:30 in the link I provided.

Reddy3D 12:55AM | Tue, 29 August 2017

scottl 9:55PM | Fri, 25 August 2017

Is there a full step by step somewhere? the pdf is rather incomplete...

Drai 1:24AM | Fri, 21 July 2017

Thanks so much for this updater! I've been able to get my G3 character from Daz to Poser with no troubles, except - when I load the character into Poser, moving it around is VERY slow. Is anyone experiencing this? Any ideas?

bolt794689 4:22PM | Sat, 17 June 2017

G8F also uses the above program Can be called up from the Poser 11.

Gisela 5:40AM | Wed, 11 January 2017

It wasn't easy but I made it. Thank you Mr.

mercutioaquarius 10:04AM | Sat, 31 December 2016

Solution for "the format of the input string is incorrect" error: It happens when you use international windows. The international windows use comma for decimal places, the american uses point. You can change it in the country settings, and the PoserUpdater works properly. Thanks for this great program, I love it!

Elerium115 10:08AM | Thu, 22 December 2016

Does it works with hair props?

Tried with Daz studio 4.6 Same result May it be Windows 10

onetz 3:12PM | Wed, 10 August 2016

I'm able to import from Daz 4.9 to Poser 11. Before updating expression don't works! After updating the expressions are incredibly explosive and totally useless.! This is what i get! [genesis 3 poser 11.jpg]( May be the problem is Daz studio 4.9?

carrara_pat 1:26AM | Wed, 27 July 2016

Got it working following all the steps carefully!! Thanks again everybody who made this happen!

carrara_pat 4:58PM | Tue, 26 July 2016

I got the same error : "the format of the input string is incorrect" as gaius when using the Genesis 3 Poser updater.... I used XL - Content Library to do the first part of the steps to create the Poser cr2.... I may try and do those steps in DAZ and see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the hard work of those putting the parts together.

infinity10 10:51AM | Thu, 21 July 2016

I had a lot of puzzling moments with very odd and unstable behaviour during the conversion process with Genesis 3 Male Fujio (a Kenji 7 morph). I solved my problem by luanching the DSON Support item from Poser's drop-down Scripts menu. I cleared the cache, and I got the conversion to work. So, must clear the DSON Support utility cache.

Dynchia 3:00PM | Fri, 01 July 2016

I use to be a Poser user but since 7, I been a hard core Studio user. Recently due to problems with DAZ (I refuse to update to their v4.9) and getting plug-ins for 4.8 that I know excist (they only want to sell me the 4.9 verson) I am seriously looking at moving back to Poser. I've already brought Debut and installed it, cost me less then a quarterly membership to PC+, to use get back into the Poser scene. If things go well,I can get 10 for $60, the $200 for 11 is just too far out of reach. Still, I'm hoping someone can figure out how to get this to work in 10 and will be crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

DeadScrypt 4:44AM | Tue, 28 June 2016

Thanks so much! What is the outfit you have her in for your ad?

scottl 7:55PM | Fri, 24 June 2016

awesome, but sadly doesnt work for me....not sure exactly what folders to put em in. Seems to work yet nothing shows up to load in poser, dont have a dson conversion folder.. rather confused at this point and dont see what else to try so will say thanks and walk away.

Will this only work in Poser 11? I'm currently using 9. I want to upgrade, but Poser Pro 2014 is less expensive than Poser 11.

emotionaldreams 6:47PM | Fri, 06 May 2016

doenst work for me. Poser crashes when importing G3

patnoumea 10:49PM | Fri, 08 April 2016

morphious 2:29PM | Thu, 07 April 2016

Thanks but after I do the export from Daz, then Open Poser, she is invisible. The View port pull down in top left shows she is in scene, but nothing visible in view port. :) Any ideas?

This is very cool. All we need now is a way beside that stupid and for me, quite worthless DSON Importer to bring D/S sets, scenes, props and hair into Poser to prep and use to create and render scenes in Poser and I be "werry, werry heppy"!

gany78 10:28AM | Sat, 27 February 2016

Hi, everyone. I am a MAC USER. I found i way to work with this tool too. Mac user need the winebottler program from kronenberg (its free, google it). After downloading follow the instruction and run the .msi file on your mac like an app. The expression may be do not work. (Uncheck the force limits of every joint. After unchecking the Force Limits some Poses work better in poser 11 Pro). I had to go to my poser 2014 pro version and update there my GENESIS 3 Figure. After that i could load the figure expressions to my GENESIS 3 Figure. This work with the female and male Figure. Hope this could help some Mac user. thanx. have nice weekend kind regards gany78

clell 6:55AM | Sat, 27 February 2016

Thank you for this "Gift" to our community. You could have made a few bucks selling this item. Instead you helped a lot of really frustrated people out of your generosity....very uncommon these days. Many thanks!

gaius 6:46AM | Sat, 27 February 2016

This is fabulous, thank you so much. I must add that Willdial is a very very kind person ; I made him waste his time all day long yesterday and he never lost his temper ! Thanks for this too. Oh ! and he loves women with big boobs... The fact is I have an error message at the end of the process when it comes to update the Poser 11 saved G3F : "the format of the input string is incorrect" and G3F is not updated. Has anybody got this message ? I activated NetFramework 3.5 which is required by the tool...My bad luck !

Thank you for sharing!

Marvin3D 1:18PM | Fri, 26 February 2016

This would look a little bit more serious if the platform restrictions were mentioned. Since the included installer file is an .msi file this is Windows only. Mac users: there is nothing for you to get here.

pruiz 12:00PM | Fri, 26 February 2016

The expressions transfer is fantastic. Thanks for all that work.

You can rest assure, I will visit your store, on any occasion I have money spare, to show my gratitude for this stand you have taken against establishment. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Photonflash1 10:17AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

Willdial AND Lululee, Thanks so much for your vision and diligence in working through the difficulties of making G3 transition to Poser! What a breakthrough!

tmstubbs 10:08AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

Thank you for creating this utility. I haven't learned how to use Studio. I've just dabbled with it. I was upset when the genesis figures couldn't be used in Poser. And I was relieved when they created poser companion files. But when Genesis 3 came out, once again they left Poser out. I'm still unhappy that mostly all that DAZ seems to produce is only for DAZ Studio. I am learning to use Studio, but I'm grateful that you have created this utility for Poser. Thank you from the bottom of this 'student of grudgingly learning Studio's' heart.

llynara 9:55AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

This is very exciting! I use both DAZ and Poser (10), with no intention of leaving either program. So happy to hear this news! Going to have to upgrade to Poser 11 now and try it out!

Great Idea, thank you

bosArt 5:24AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

yesterday when hearing the news about RDNA doing DAZ, I feared this might be the beginning of the end of Poser. but today you changed everything. thank you very much. this is exactly what I have waited for! freedom to chose whatever software I personally prefer for the content I need. simply perfect!

gany78 3:46AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

Hi, is there a possibility for mac users too.? The converting weight map Part works. The Genesis works great. unfortunately the expression are bad. thanks

76claudia2205 3:14AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

Can this be reviewed of how it exactly works in Poser? There are more people besides me who are getting a blank scene, with only the name on top of the scene. I really appreciate the effort that you do/have done and I love to have G3F finally working inside Poser 11. But as it is now it's not working.

76claudia2205 2:54AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

This doesn't work for me in my P11 with DSON. I have followed the steps and no matter what I do when loading G3F in Poser, there's nothing in the scene.

speculoos 1:47AM | Thu, 25 February 2016

McGrandpa 9:58PM | Wed, 24 February 2016

OUTSTANDING! And that is before installing the .msi updater itself! The method of converting the G3F INSIDE DS 4.x by itself is worthy of high praise!!! Now to see what the .msi does. <img class="emojione" alt="&#x1f602;" title=":joy:" src=""/>

This could be a game changer. Finally, new Daz content in the stable powerhouse that is Poser. I'm looking forward to giving this a try! Thank you SO MUCH!

DalekSupreme 9:24PM | Wed, 24 February 2016

Brilliant. Thank you both for your vision, generosity, skill, hard graft and just darned love for the community, in creating something that the two software behemoths claimed was impossible. Good on you both!
