Product Notes

I built this for a Star Trek-related scene involving a transporter malfunction, where the pad dramatically goes POOF (as shown in at least one episode, IIRC.) You see the results here!
After a bit of work on it I realized it also could make a pretty convincing mushroom cloud, if one wanted one of those. The materials are all procedural (and Firefly-centric although they work well in SuperFly also) but the cloud itself is mapped; I‘ve included a template in case someone wants to make some maps.

Legalities- Permission is granted to use this in commercial or noncommercial renders, but not to distribute it alone or as part of a collection without prior written permission.

Or maybe, an unhealthy mushroom. Looks cool, whatever. Thank you!

"The Doomsday Machine" was a fave of mine, too!

Yes! "The Doomsday Machine"! That was the one, thank you. Time for a re-watch. And I think this might come in handy for the end of the Cestus III sequence in "Arena", as well. A bit close for one of those little jewels...

After reading that, "The Doomsday Machine" does come to mind about the transporter blowing out. Also perfect when those action scenes need a fiery explosion...
