I like to do big scenes, with a lot of background. Trees, houses, hills, all that stuff can really bring a scene to life. But loading your scene up with a lot of high-poly props is a good way to bring renders to a crawl, and often the background props render out very small, so most of the detail they may contain is lost. One answer I‘ve found is to build low-poly props just for use in backgrounds or distant shots- I‘ve already posted a couple of sets of low-poly buildings, and more are on the way. This collection has four low-poly boat props including two small fishing-style boats, a two-masted caravel, and a sampan. Sails are provided as separate props, so the boats can rest at anchor or be sailing.
