You want to give a sense of an environment that is beyond your city/town/suburb scene, but without becoming a distraction. Simple textured morphed planes are lightweight props solution for this problem.

This is a near-range simple prop that can be used for hiding the ground discontinuity at the edge of your city/town/suburb scene. The Urban Mound Section prop is to be placed at the visible edge of such a scene; you can also add other near-range billboards on that prop, such as a fence; you can use mid-range billboards behind that prop.

Some camera positions, that you tried to avoid, are now possible.
