Crystals (For Poser)
Operating System(s): Windows 7, Windows 10
Softwares: Poser 7+
License: This is licensed for commercial or non-commercial use.
Product Notes
A simple .pp2 prop that should work in most versions of Poser, with two sets of Material files, one for Firefly, and one for Superfly. Since I made this in PoserPro11, you may get some version warnings when you load the file in earlier versions, but it should work fine. Materials are in the Material folder under CrystalsLWPerkins.
Prop loads with a texture that works in both renderers, though it looks better (I think) in Superfly. You can actually use all the materials in either renderer, but the Firefly textures will be a little hot and glowy in Superfly.
You can scale this up a lot (it comes in sort of La Femme hand sized) to make alien monoliths, or multiply it to make crystal groupings. it's a small size so you can make a lot of them before clogging the memory. You can also add procedural textures to it or tweak the color settings.
You can use it for either commercial or personal products; just please don't redistribute the files. Have fun!

Thank you. :)
Thank you Nik for the info! I have progressive set as the default, but I should look to see about using irfanview for conversions more often--I have it and use it a lot! No idea about the mtl files but I do set the default export on my obj to "jpeg" so it might work even if you put the files into another program--worth a try, anyway!
Thank you. Always nice to have well-behaved crystals !! FWIW, PropViewer32 did not like the 'progressive' JPG textures. I moved them into a Jprog folder, then used *free* Irfan View to batch-convert them back to original location as 'standard' JPGs... Um, MC5 & MC6 mat-files are so sorta similar to OBJs' MTL files, I must wonder if there's a utility which will convert them...
Thank you, Cyve!
Beautiful creation my friend !!!
And thank you for your Freestuff!! OMG I have baked that messy birthday cake in real life :D
I love crystals, so I'm happy to have some more to add to my collection -- thank you!!
A friend dragged it into Daz and put a glass mat on it--and it looked pretty good! I had forgotten that DS can take Poser format stuff, though you have to manually load the mats.
Thank you!!
Very cool :-)
LOL My pleasure!
Many thanks for this freebie :D you rock!
You're both welcome! <3
