Product Notes

A set of four simple railing props for Poser and DAZ Studio that can be connected together to form a variety of larger railings by simply parenting, Y rotating, and X/Z translating.

Created several years ago, around 2013 I think.

Tested ten years ago in Poser 6 and 9 and DAZ Studio 3 and 4.0

As it's an old freebie it's only in Poser prop (PP2) format, so DAZ Studio users will have to user the "Import from Poser" option or whatever it's called (from the File menu I think). It does, however, include DAZ Studio materials that are automatically applied if it's loaded into DAZ Studio.

Thanks. A bit like Doctor Who then ? :o) (I'm of such an age that I only saw the first four doctors)

NikKelly is correct, these railings are pretty timeless and can fit into most any era with little change!

Hope you all actually find a use for them in a render ! ;o) NikKelly: interesting idea - I'd never thought of that. You're welcome to do whatever you want with it Tora-no-shi1369: The only real problem I recall with importing a Poser file into DAZ Studio was that Studio screwed up even basic Poser materials, specifically specular stuff. Hence Studio specific materials, which normally had to be applied manually by the user. Somebody over on the DAZ forums (at the DAZ site) showed me how to make that automatic.

A generally useful thing to have in one's runtime! Thank you very much for posting!

Thank you for these 'trad' faux-cast-iron bollards and their railings. Suitably scaled and semi-transparent, make passable SciFi 'plasma conduits' etc ?? Hmm: I wonder if I can hack them to triangular / pentagonal / hexagonal...

For DAZ it is Import and then selecting Poser in the menu of import options. I have never had issues with just selecting the poser file and having DAZ load it normally. Just select import and choose the Poser format file. DAZ does the rest. Thank you for this. it looks good for a piece of older work.
