db tufa formations 65 HiRes are tufa formations near Mono Lake California. These are created by gas leaking from the crust of the earth and reacting with the heavily mineralized water. Then, when the lake shrunk in size, it left these strange formations. The possibilities are endless.
This one is my favorite. It looks like a 2 story building from some strange planet. (There were horned lizards living it which was quite entertaining.)
