I used the large aircraft steps in a poser picture... http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2633769&user_id=226784&np&npScaled it up by 320% and it still looks good even close-up... Proof that you do not need thousands of polygons to look pleasing.Thanks much!
