I've had some interesting experiences with the poser import. Materials and groups : The best way to fix this is to go through the material summary. Especially if you want to control the body skin and the head skin with only one material, it is easy to assign the same material to multiple body parts that way. Bumps: Vue seems to overreact with poser bump values. Just reduce the bump gain in the vue material way way down and it looks normal again (I found this was easier to do than remove the bump map in poser and add it later in vue) Crashes: I had multiple crashes importing poser models in vue. Most of the time, I found out they were related to either props (especially 3ds props) or very twisted clothes. In one picture, I had to strip a poser character from all her props (she had a crown, earrings and a necklace) and save them as individual obj files for later import in vue. I hope this will help...

About the 'locate poser.exe' problem. The only time I ran into it, I had poser already running and I was trying to open vue at the same time. The problem dissapears if I run close poser before opening vue.

Thanks for the comments.... just one question : what is Vue Master ? First time I hear of it. Mike, I also had some problem with transparency and poser imports. Some materials turn out with a transparency of 50% or 0% when then had 100% in poser.

Thread: Vue 4 Light gels | Forum: Vue
I tried something similar to see if I could get good rays of light and caustics under water but I must have been missing something - I never could make it work. All I got was the gel 'image' projected on the surface and not in the light itself.
Thread: Dumb question re: renaming Poser.exe | Forum: Vue
hmmm... dumb suggestion :) Dawn, it might be wise to check if you can see any extension at all. If you windows ME has file extensions hidden, you could end up renaming your application 'poser.exe.exe'. To turn file extensions on, go into 'file explorer -> tools -> folder options -> view'

Ok... I finally got a chance to try the 2nd patch. My poser imports got fixed apparently. However, one of my scenes stil freezes vue around 72% with 10 lights :) added more RAM, defragmented the hard drive, optimized the memory, lit a candle in the nearest church... with no result. It is too big to send e-on by email but I can try to uplad the scene on my website if they want to look at it (13 Meg).

Try ISOP clothes and textures (see the link). They should work for the P4 woman. The site is in japanese but the images are self explanatory.Thread: As many of you uses Poser, I prefer to ask you first... | Forum: Vue
The eyebrow problem is a real pain when you get started with vicky2. You can find detailed tips about it in the poser forum (search 'vicky eyebrow'). If you can't wait, here is a summary : One way to get rid of them is to click on the face and look for the 'upper eyebrow gone' dial. It is a direct way to get rid of the problem. The other way is to go to the 'material' panel. - Select 'upper eyebrow'. Set 'min and max transparency' to 100%. Make sure the 'highlight' color is set to black. I hope this will help.
