Thread: why there're some strange CD icon-style stuff in my render? | Forum: Vue
Thread: A Question About The Plant Editor | Forum: Vue
Nabob -
Are these plants you modified in Vue9 or an earlier version?
I've also noticed a lot of problems with the scaling on plant textures as discussed in previous threads.
Thread: About Vue Infinite9...??? | Forum: Vue
Just chiming in that this is a MAJOR frustration, and really disappointing. I've been with Vue since v5, and while the stability of v9 is much improved (especially over v8.5), the whole scaling/bump issue is making me insane. 5 years of purchased content that must be adjusted now, depending on how it's being used. And god forbid you mix content that was developed for Vue9 and earlier versions.
Thread: Ground plane & Eco sys...Invisible? | Forum: Vue
It's hard to tell from the image you've provided, but can you position the plane just below the terrain, so the plane disappears, but the plants still remain? that way the shadows should still cast on the terrain.
Thread: Importing Poser Dynamic Hair into Vue | Forum: Vue
Thanks, Mazak.
Sorry to be stupid, but where do you set the "single sided" and "enable back light"? I've looked through the material editor and am not finding them.

That's looking great. Did you scale her at import, or resize once you brought her into Vue?

Quote - Is it the same if you import using the POser shader tree? And did you try the several Poser SDK options?
Yep. Same results.

Hey Shawn
In the render, that's just the way the hair material imported to Vue with no adjustments except to tone down the specularity a bit.

Tony
When you say "the program will only let me..." what do you mean? Are you getting a specific error message? Are the options not being made available?
I agree with with Esprit and 8gb RAM you should be able to do very large renders.
Thread: Vue9 System & Upgrade? | Forum: Vue
Quote - Just ran it and imported one Poser figure on it's own with dynamic cloth...Not impressed, too much longer to show in the World than 8 does.
Looks like I'll be sticking with 8 for now..The GUI is a lot different too, I'll need to re-learn it I think... LOL!
Interesting. I'm just loading my first figure in - very simple (2 of Dinraul's dinosaurs) - and with this, it's MUCH improved over what I was experiencing in 8.5 Time will tell, however. This is pretty simple.
Agree about the interface. A few quirky things like the atmo editor/load being one button now.
Another thing that was goofy in 8.5 was the size of the poser imports. It looks like that's been fixed.

Thanks, Fixer. Good to know.
I know I've taken to "downstepping" to Vue7.5 to build the scenes, then reopening them in 8.5 to render (as the rendering is improved, though slower).
Glad I didn't jump into another 8 of RAM and a new video card.
Thread: Some advice please? Vue is wearing my patience a bit thin at the moment | Forum: Vue
I just upgraded from 7.5I to 8.5I and I have to say that 8.5I is the "twitchiest" release I've seen yet from E-on. Major issues with Poser imports, including partial loss of textures for no apparent reason, generally slow response times, crashes not uncommon. All IMHO. I'd recommend waiting to upgrade until the first couple of fixes get released.
