Not quite sure what you're asking. Are you looking for ocean waves on the surface, or refracted light from the waves on the bottom? When you talk about "clear lighting" do you mean no caustics? I've got several underwater images in my gallery. Maybe these could help to clarify your questions.

Thought I'd chime in here.I do quite a bit of underwater in Vue. Currently using 7.5
I've never deleted the sun, for what it's worth. A couple of tips: Make sure your volumetric light is above the water surface. I also find that angling the light makes a big difference in the caustic effect. Agree with the above comments about making the scale of the gel smaller and also increasing the contrast, though rather than going into the function editor, I've done it by going into the color map and adjusting the slider. Also, increase the volumetric light's spread can be effective.
The other thing is that you may need to have more than one light. In the attached image, I used two volumetrics to get the light beams, then another 3 lights non-volumetric but with gels attached at a very high level (300) to get the light patterns on the animals. These non-volumetric lights can be placed below the water surface.
Thread: Node mask for displacement? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for replying and the link, Phil. That's a useful tutorial!
I don't think that's quite going to work. If I understand that example, it shows the same displacement level across the entire material zone (6.0), even though there are two images mapped. What I'm trying to do is assign different displacement levels to different areas within the same material zone (ideally, one area would be displaced and the other just bump mapped)., and was wondering if that's possible with a mask.

That's it! I must have clicked it and it was covered up by the document window.
Thanks, Dr Greep!
Thread: Poser Interface Background Turns Black | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, it's fixed....sort of.
Very strange thing. When I reopened Poser again, I accidentally did a right click when the cursor was over the interface background, and it came up with a gradient slider menu, like the one that pops up if you go into the material room and try to change the background color in the pose window. The slider was pushed all the way to black. When I moved it, the interface background color changed. It's still not the factory default color, but at least it's usable.
Now here's what's really strange. I closed the program, opened it back up, and now when I right click, the gradient slider won't come up.

When you upgraded to Infinite, do you have a problem with all your cornucopia content? I just upgraded as well, and none of my copy protected content is being recognized
Thread: underwater vue scenes | Forum: Vue
Hey Gang - A little off-topic here, but I'm having a sudden issue with Vue6E, specifically around underwater scenes, and am wondering if anyone has run into this. My main camera is disappearing from the scene and vue won't allow me to add another one. This is happening regardless of whether I build the scene, then add the water, or whether I start the camera below or above water level. Has anyone ever run into a disappearing camera before?

BTW, I recently purchased Zbrush and downloaded some free tutorials that run on Veogh. I think, though can't be sure, that's where I got it. Still working on that.

Hey Mike - Don't knock farm animals......
Thanks all for the comments. Actually I loaded and ran Kaspersky and that's what finally caught it. I've taken it in and am having it scrubbed. Hopefully that will do it.
Appreciate the comments from all. If I find out where I picked the f******r up I'll let you know.
In the meantime, play safe!!!!
Thread: Does anyone know anything about this Dinosaur model site? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Excuse my ignorance, a newbie here just getting started with vue, poser, etal. What about the dinosaurs offered at TurboSquid in 3DS format? Are these usable in poser/vue? I know there's the inport feature for 3DS in both softwares. If the model being sold says jointed, does that mean it's posable?
Wouldn't mind spending the money on some of them, but want to understand what I'm buying. Any advice is appreciated.
