Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Mar 12 2:07 pm)
First renders... That's a trip down memory lane. Some of the earliest I could find were for my first freebies, around 2010.

An early version of Mikiko

Some other free characters I made for the Smith Micro "G2" gang. Olivia, Sydney, Jessi.

A render test for a character based on Little Dragon's Krystal. I don't think I ever released that one.
Two Alpha Centauris meet, each believing the other to look less like fan art.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
SydneyG2 with Sonara morph and texture. This was one of my first favorite figures. I did a lot with her back in 2009 or so, so I decided to dust her off and have a go with her in Superfly and Poser13.
This is Sydney with shaders adjusted for Cycles, her eyes switched out for Adorana Eyes (which are still awesome props for figures whose geometry isn't good enough, which, let's face it, the G2 eyes aren't). She's wearing Sarah Hair and Kailynn Slave Girl clothes. The hair clearly has limitations in Cycles, but what the hey.

Very nice.:D Yeah, it can be hard to get decent results with old hair textures.
I also found that subdivision can help with posing older figures. In the menu Figure > Skinning Method, set it to Poser Unimesh. Subdivision can then be set in the figure Properties tab. Just be aware that anything done in the Group or Morph editor will only apply at that subdivision level or higher.

Bingo! You get the prize. The textures and body morphs are by Virtual_World from a set called "Asian Beauty". The outfit is a mostly a refitted V4 outfit called SF01 (scarf and gunbelt). I have no idea where I picked it up, I'm afraid. =( I also made use of the Miki4 body suit by Lyrra (I think) and bits of the Spygirl outfit that I think was Smith Micro. Jacket is part of an outfit by Pretty3D called "Black Shine" (I think). =) I am nothing if not the mistress of the "mash up". XD

I saw an item on sale that I thought I already had...except the file was corrupt. I dug though all of my backups and the only copy was corrupt as well. I hate getting things I already have. Oh well...at least I could still get it again. After all the trouble trying to recover the file, I decide to figure out how to get my old toon shader working in Superfly/Cycles. It took a few tries, but I think the results are nice.

Mikiko (Miki2) with Kazumi morph. Toon shaders applied to character, hair and background.
I'm not sure... Based on the features, I'd guess it's Roxie. I tried doing a character for her, don't know if I ever finished it.

The tall science hero type on the right is Dawn 2. Any guesses as to who short girl in the shimmery dress on the left is?
Teh Mollz
She's older than Roxie. It's Kate 2! =)
I added some morphs of my own using the morph brush within Poser and the morphs and textures from Fairy Light's Tricia character. I dressed her in a sexy outfit by Billy T that was available at Content Paradise and is no longer available anywhere AFAIK.
As for Roxie, if you have a character you're doing for her I'd love to see it. She's not well-supported but I thought she had a lot of potential.

Totally fooled me! LOL Nice work, never would have guessed.
It took me a bit to find my Roxie character and dust off the cobwebs. Some of that stuff just doesn't load correctly since they'd reorganized the older content. I don't blame them, putting geometry in the library folder was a mistake repeated with first party content for years.

Based on "Roxie Improved" by Lyrra Madril, textures from Amelia by Virtual_World, character & shaders by moi.

I started out with Poser 7, so I didn't user the older figures much. There was one time I recall using Don as an old miser who didn't have any treats for Halloween, so he got the trick...getting his car "toad".
Daz Preteen Girl, Don (texture by quim-abella).
No postwork in this one. I used motion blur and some shader tricks for the effects.
This is a nice render of Don. I totally forgot about him. I bypassed Poser 5 and went to Poser 6, so I was not too familiar with him because James was the featured male at that time.

Je pense que Don tout comme Judy avait un énorme potentiel si on avait pris soin de les améliorer.
I think that Don, just like Judy, had enormous potential if we had taken care to improve them.

Very nice. I recall seeing "vein" displacement addons for other figures, but I don't recall where they were. The site's probably long gone by now... There's a few vein textures posted in the free stuff.
