FVerbaas inspired me to also dig in old folders. One of me very first Poser renders, probably from 2001 or 2002, using Posette a.k.a. P4 woman:

Jessi:

Miki:

and finally a very early Antonia render, before the good folks of this community started to provide her with textures:

-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
This is interesting...when you say "re-envisioned" you mean...you created Marlin again with genesis figures? I've only known one other artist that did that....he recreated his character using M1, then M2, then David, then M3 etc....each figure has different geometries but he managed to maintain his character's "looks" through these figures.......I would go insane just thinking about attempting to do that...

Anim8dtoon & varash thanks for the kind words. That was my first arrempt at making a character.
People from the forums were following my progress & making suggestions.
Marlin was joined by a cast of characters. And they were "re-envisioned" using various Genesis versions as well.

Here is my image of ShvrDavid's Pauline Advanced figure, who comes with more features and morphs than the original Pauline. She also has morphs by Erogenesis built in. Rendered in Poser 11 Pro Superfly using AO-Wolfnom's RenderKnight script with Tempesta3D's Asami textures, using Afrodite-Ohki's Key Light 01 and Infinite backdrop from her Level Up Superfly product. Lua Updo hair by 3Dream, available in the RMP. The "Photo Studio" backdrop is by Enax, which was available in the Freestuff area but doesn't seem to be anymore. The Breast Cancer Egg is a very old freebie figure from DAZ with one of Vince Bagna's fabulous glass Super Shaders applied to it. Last but not least, the marble pillar is from Sveva's Fantasy Pillars and Stands in the RMP. Enjoy, and please keep your wonderful renders coming!

Thank you, Hborre! I realized that about the head texture after uploading the image. It could be the lighting or something because in other renders using that same head/body texture and different lighting, they matched up just fine. I'll go back and fudge around with it and see what I can do.Very nice render, except the head skin texture doesn't match the rest of the body. Either the shader is poorly set up or the skin textures are mismatched.
Here is a screenshot of one of the promo images from Tempesta3d's product page for the Asami character. In that image, her head texture appears to be slightly different from the body~

I have seen mismatches in body textures from other authors. It may not be prominent in Firefly rendering, for example, but you will see the difference in Superfly. You need a keen eye to spot the discrepancy. Sometimes, the shader(s) may contain glaring, unintentional mistakes that are introduced as a hack. For that reason, I manually inspect all the material shaders and make identical corrections where needed.
How would you correct the discrepancy in Superfly, Hborre? I render my images exclusively in Superfly; I can't remember the last time I did so in Firefly. Thanks for any help with this!I have seen mismatches in body textures from other authors. It may not be prominent in Firefly rendering, for example, but you will see the difference in Superfly. I gravitate towards using Cycles for Superfly renders because I have strict control over the shaders in the Material Room. But you need to use the correct nodes corresponding to each root node and render engine. I wouldn't use the PoserSurface node for Superfly; you will see some strange effects with Cycle-related nodes. Replace it with the PhysicalSurface node, which can accommodate both legacy nodes and some mathematical Cycles nodes. Using legacy nodes in Cycles-based materials may not interact well.

Not really lesser known, but definitely older and, yes, made for Poser.
This is seven times the (almost) exact same mesh.
1. M2P4, a version of Michael that can wear the P4 "Dorks" clothing
2. The original "Millenium Man", here as the "Ruler of Egypt", a set made by Anton Kisiel
3. Michael 2, the 2nd Edition of the "Millenium Man" with a new face and a truckload of additional body morphs.
4. Aiko-Bot, based on Stephanie I. She was "Mystery Mesh" DAZ gave away when you bought Michael 2. Yes, there was an Aiko before Aiko-3.
5. Stephanie I, who was able to fit into V2 clothing by default.
6. Herma, a hermaphrodite character made by Arduino based on M2/Steph I. Fully functional, BTW. ;-)
7. THE GRIM, a character sold by DAZ based on Michael I/II but with modified rigging.

Also...
MikeTaur, a character I created based on the old DAZ Centaur rigging.

And PosyTaur, made by XAA, also based on the old DAZ Centaur rigging:

And speaking of Vic3: here is the gorgeous Viviann, rendered using EZSkin 3.5

It doesn't make us any younger... she's almost 20: may 2006

@hborre, aww, beautiful character, she looks great!
Poser 6 Figure with EZskin Adjustment with the new script :D Thank you so much ^^ He is using La Femme eyes, only a bit tweaked in scale
If Poser 6 was released on November 15th 2005.. and if we say he was 8 years old... in 13 days it is his 28th birthday... oh my ... maybe he has a wife and kids these days. XD

This fellow is a Gug by Sixus1, released in 2014. I gave him the Poser 13 superfly treatment. This image is cropped to show him off but the full version is in my gallery: https://www.renderosity.com/gallery/items/3222588/gug-by-firelight

Many lovely renders of classic figures. :D I've used them quite a bit over the years and still bring them out from time to time.

A mini version of Mikiko (Miki 2) along with Miki
2 for comparison and my own custom S6 shaders. The perspective
throws the scale off a bit...

Kid 4, Maddie, Michael 4, Felicie (La Femme), Luke, Maddie

Mikiko (Miki 2), Sannzi's Kotatsu (custom texture), Laura, HiveWire Horse.
Lil Susie (SuzyQ2)
It's so cool to see all the variants together. Totally forgot about Stephanie. I used that M2/PDork variant a lot, even though P4 is not as advanced but I find that the dork has a better overall body shape than M1/2.

You captured his sense of bravado perfectly! Here's another render of my Marlin Fingle character (he was based on Michael 1).
I had no money at the time, so I painted Marlin's Bodysuit on the Michael texture map!
Here's Judy, Don, Penny, and Will.

I started this one back in 2010. I put it aside half done because I was struggling with the poses. I had always planned to come back to it. I hadn't expected it to take 15 years. I adjusted the poses and updated the shaders for Superfly. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

It's great that you came back to that ^^ a lovely scene. Some things just take time ^^

It's interesting to see that some Poser users who haven't been active for a long time are still keeping an eye on Poser :)
Just like me. In 2023, I deleted all Windows installations and switched completely to Linux. Poser doesn't run on Linux. Too bad. I would have liked to continue using it for my AI-generated images.
But never mind.
The first post shows an image that must have been created in 2008 or earlier (2008 is the backup date). As a render...
...and as a screenshot.
Figures must be V3.
The next two are from the same time, also V3:

My "first" Poser was a boxed copy of Poser 4 I purchased in 2000 I think. I still have it.
But there was already a Poser long before that. Here are the Poser 1 male, the Poser 2 Casual Child Hi and the Poser 3 Posette:

And here is a Poser 1 review still online from 1996:
