Subject: PA's using Ai

lkopop908 ( ) posted Wed, 17 December 2025 at 6:46 AM · edited Sat, 25 April 2026 at 10:19 AM

Personally if the product is good I dont care that they use it but......Im seeing alot more slop and its not being disclosed that its Ai. Some are saying its "scanned" when you can clearly tell its not.

Isn't it in Renderosity's policy to disclose if your using Ai?

I thought so too and prompted Hunyuan 3D on my PC to create a mesh of the same description and got remarkably similar results, not naming the product and don't own it to know for sure. Meshy3D, the paid version would give even better results from what I have seen. Neither hold a candle to an actual modelled mesh though topography and UV projection wise, you get stuff like this6mRs9If8hjtK6SlhSkrH4Dd3Lkv9m2crSTySQyRN.jpg

You should care that PAs are using AI in their products, especially if that use is undisclosed. Yet, in some cases it's obvious and no one will call it out. People go along and say, "Oh, that;s so cute!" Well, the work is sold in the store here on a commercial license and that AI slop is based on theft and has no copyright protection. And when you call it out, and the PA doesn't deny the AI use, it means there is a(nother) problem with buying stuff here. Namely, that you could be buying stuff tainted with AI slop and maybe not know it. And if it's a freebie for a day, that doesn't change the fact that people are buying it the rest of the year, and part of the product is just AI generated garbage. And honestly, just because AI slop is everywhere doesn't make it ok.

You should really care that you are being duped and misled into buying a product that has been created using AI, especially as this is becoming a growing trend while the general quality of products being put out is decreasing, you may not think that a product being sold to you matters right now but that is more than likely because you are not being directly affected by what is now happening.  If you are being sold a product that has been made using AI then it has more than likely just been stolen from someone else and then hashed out as an unrefined and unfinished product and many of these companies such as Meshy etc are more than happy to do exactly that, even quite willingly using stolen work as global promotions (see pictures below from Facebook) lS6INNLOHmzonWrurUUYeVVUEVyFKjW8blRk74r3.jpgYlOn8s5QiT8n1vK3ZhQ3EASc81R0w53gwdDUd50f.jpg

While I have openly maintained that I have no objection to people using AI to create artwork and I still don't object, I do object to people using AI to sell products that they haven't created in the first place and quite truthfully any sites allowing this to happen whether by choice or general ignorance, are equally as criminal as the vendors selling such products, even if that is by complicit nature alone. At some point in the not too distant future questions will be asked more and more, a lack of any transparent answer will define a future for many companies where there is no trust and if there is no trust then there is no future.
