Subject: PBR textures

How to use PBR textures? How do you install them?

I have a lot of PBR-type textures that I want to use on models or things in Blender 4.5.

Thanks for any response's

John

PBR textures can just be plugged directly into the PrincipleBsdf Node connectors from the Image Texture node.  You just link the texture files from whereever you have them to the nodes.  You might need to do some minor adjustments, but it is a straightforward procedure.  You can refer to YouTube where there are dozens of tutorials.

I highly recommend turning on the Node Wrangler addon in Blender it makes adding PBR textures so much easier and will do allot of the plugging the textures into the right texture nodes this tutorial is a little dated but most still applies

I second the recommendation to use the Node Wrangler addon.  Then all you have to do is press CTRL + SHIFT + T shortcut, it will open your file manager where you point to the folder where your PBR textures for whatever material you are trying to create exist.  Select the maps you want to include in the material.  For example, the color, glossiness, roughness, bump, and displacement.  It will automatically import those maps and place them into a node structure as they should be set up.  Couldn't be easier.

Hi, I've tried some tutorials on YouTube so far, but some go too quickly or are old, some have different desktops or icons, and if a person gets down and dirty, then you have to stop the tutorial.

My blender 4.3 /4.5

4.3 Node wrangler is on the right tab area,4.5 is core, but I can't find how to activate it. Then, where is the light function icon in 4.5 to turn on sunlight?

 And it is hard for me to go to YouTube because I'm banned from it, so that is another story. I have to use another computer, ok, long talk, sorry.

Thanks for the help, I'm trying

John

Lobo3433;

In 4.3, it worked great, but I lost track of how to save the texture and could not light it properly. Also, when I get further along, I'll need to use these textures, but now I'm getting too far ahead of myself. Sorry about that. We were in Los Angeles too long today, and I hate California. The VA health system is good for me, but a 7-hour drive is forgettable.

I might help if I saw some screen shots of your interface I am including a link below where you can down load the Blender Manual for 4.3 I also suggest you grab the 4.5 manuals that you can down load as PDF files to your computer from the links I sent yesterday you can down load those in either Epub book format or HTML so you can look thru them on you desktop. As to lighting that is a subject in itself and in that manual link I sent yesterday has a section that covers lighting

I found NodeWrangler in 4.5 good to go now. I'm going through the 4.5 manual now. A screenshot will appear later. I hope you want the interface as it starts. Blender starts.
