Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Mar 20 6:20 pm)
The UVMapping should still be in place. But if it's a character you could always hack (a copy of) the cr2 to make it point to your new, modified obj.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Open the cr2 with a text editor, you should see something like this (Victoria 3 cr2 used as reference):
{
version
{
number 6
}
figureResFile F:External RuntimesVictoria3 CharactersRuntimeGeometriesDAZPeopleblMilWom_v3.obj
Simply do a Replace All to change all references to the original obj file with your modified one. There might only be one reference to the obj, or there might be multiple references.
Then you can change the name of the cr2 (and corresponding png/rsr) and save.

If you're joking that's just cruel, but if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse.
Usually when you modify a Poser figure in ZBrush, it is to make morph targets (MT) from the default posed figure, and not to re-import for posing/rendering…. UV mapping doesn’t play a part here.
A quickie on the steps in case you don’t know is…
Import figure’s obj into ZBrush (preferably from the geometries folder).
Do your thing in ZB and export out.
Import that obj into Poser.
Spawn props.
Export out each modified body part as an obj (MT).
Apply those MT’s to a new figure.
(There are python scripts around, to speed up the last two steps)
I think that is what you are trying to do….
However, if (like me) you are modifying one or more figures that you have already posed in a scene (smoothing out faults, fine tuning, etc.) you do lose the UV mapping (don’t ask me why..you just do).
The work-around for this is to open the default obj in UVMapper (the free version is fine for this)
Export out the UV’s.
Import the ZBrush modified obj (you’ll get a warning that there is no UV’s).
Import the UV’s (saved from the first step) and save that obj.
That obj is now ready for the CR2 hack, and to take textures in Poser.

Ive taken a poser figure into zbrush to modify it. Since it is now an OBJ and reloaded back into Poser how do I reapply a texture map?
Thanks
