There were a lot of Brit Artists who didn't get the recognition they deserved in the States during their time. Rory Gallagher was another one Although Rory went on to be recognized as one of Rocks finest Guitarists it took a long while. I remember back in 1972 or 3 a Concert in EP at the Barn(the old EP county Coliseum) It was the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes with Rory Gallagher. I knew a bit about Rory from his stint with the Taste in the late 60s and of course the Nuge was all the rage and would be even more so after the Amboy Dukes but on this night Rory Gallagher reigned supreme. Rory absolutely destroyed The Motor City Madman...Rory has been one of my Guitar Heroes ever since.

Ye gods, have I got catching up to do! Did not intend to be gone so long but the saucy wench that purports to be my writing Muse woke up and bit. Hard. Dragged me away from the breakfast table, plunked me down in front of the keyboard and Took. Right. Over. Was a wonder that she even let me go to the bathroom and I practically had to beg for sustenance, mostly in the form of -- you know, I can't remember exactly what but I'm pretty certain it was unhealthy -- throughout the day. Came to what little was left of my senses around one a.m. with a complete first draft. One that the terrible hoyden insisted I keep working on. Whispered all sorts of seductive ideas then dug her claws in and rode.
It was a fierce and glorious battle, one I barely survived. Woke up this morning on top of the bed -- and I don't remember how that happened either, pretty sure I was in it when I finally fell asleep going for half past two -- freezing cold and covered from head to toe in Wild Muse fang marks. Stiff, sore and aching all over, but satisfied. Very satisfied. ;-)

Had a day full of VA again yesterday guess I'll live another year anyway...Then went parts shopping got a dual Disk rear brake setup for The Build and a single for the front just in case. I also got an old dusty rusty front Drum setup complete with Rim for a wide front tire, which is really what I want on the front end (old school). I was looking at a Heavy duty custom Springer Front Fork setup not really crazy about Springers (their weak IMHO) but this thing looked massive and my imagination took over Springer big front wheel and Tire big beefy spokes, think the Ideas are starting to come together. Summertime spending less time in the house ,(makes makes Zo and Chewbacca happy me too) but this evening I'm dedicating to Mid-J gotta get on a roll
