Ye gods, have I got catching up to do! Did not intend to be gone so long but the saucy wench that purports to be my writing Muse woke up and bit. Hard. Dragged me away from the breakfast table, plunked me down in front of the keyboard and Took. Right. Over. Was a wonder that she even let me go to the bathroom and I practically had to beg for sustenance, mostly in the form of -- you know, I can't remember exactly what but I'm pretty certain it was unhealthy -- throughout the day. Came to what  little was left of my senses around one a.m. with a complete first draft. One that the terrible hoyden insisted I keep working on. Whispered all sorts of seductive ideas then dug her claws in and rode. 

It was a fierce and glorious battle, one I barely survived. Woke up this morning on top of the bed -- and I don't remember how that happened either, pretty sure I was in it when I finally fell asleep going for half past two -- freezing cold and covered from head to toe in Wild Muse fang marks. Stiff, sore and aching all over, but satisfied. Very satisfied. ;-)

Yeah, I know. All that to say I'm finished with "Purple", now that Watson's finally told me the rest of the story he's been dropping mere breadcrumbs of all this time. Such a terrible tease, that man, don't know how poor Sherlock ever puts up with him.

It must be True Love (TM) after all.
