Subject: Photography Forum Challenge - Dec 2012 - "Reflections"

myrrhluz ( ) posted Sun, 16 December 2012 at 9:32 PM

You'll love New Orleans, Tara.  It's a fascinating city and the food is to die for.  I'm going to be there for Christmas.  I've never been there at Christmas time before!  I'll be looking for more reflections.  In between the food!  :)

Welcome to the challenge nerijus.

A superb reflection of your daughter.

Myrrhluz two superb uploads.

Your son is a very relaxed photographer.

God Bless.

Can I borrow your son for a while, Lucinda?

Two very special reflections you've upload, my friend.

@ nerijus, Such a happy daughter you have, it's great to see her in the mirror this way.

myrrhluz ( ) posted Mon, 17 December 2012 at 7:40 AM

LOL Jacomina.  He can be intensely relaxed at times, but it doesn't necessarily rub off.  He was always the one who had me laughing or pulling my hair out.  :)

Oh gosh, pulling your hair out, Lucinda!
No, lets wait to send your relaxed son then, otherwise I'm afraid to be bald.

Best Christmas-wishes from me!

The grandchildren and their Christmas activities (choirs, plays and dances) first of all!

I've seen spectacular photos... congratulations to you all!

This photo is of some time ago, taken during a trip to Pisa in Tuscany!

This was taken outside a gallery in Riebeek Kasteel, Western Cape, last Sunday.  It is of the front of the building reflected in the pool of water around a fountain.

Lets see more Christmas reflections for the coming festive week!

Here's a photo of my dads tortoise. He comes inside to sit and listen to the music on the radio. We put a small square mirror behind him and I took a photo of him looking at himself.

I really like all of the photos of the reflections here!

Have a Merry Christmas!

Hi Clive, I love your upload, that 'spring-green' color of the building in the water is very special looking to me.

@ Sean, your fathers turtoise is just great with all the textures and colors, I'm very curious what was going on in the mind of the turtle, by seeing itself in the mirror ;-)

@ Christo, a very sunny reflection-shot you've posted here. And I loved to see the people dancing in that video. thank you for sharing, my friend!

Have a blessed week, all!

A few weeks ago we visited the Groninger Museum, really in the North of the Netherlands, one of the exhibitions (Urban Gothic) was the work by Marc Bijl.

For me very intriguing but still strange work: Marc Bijl is a Dutch artist who lives and works in Berlin. His works are based upon social issues and their use of symbols and rules. This can result in interventions in the public space, sculptures or installations that undermine or underline this perception of the world.

In one of the exhibition halls there was work based on the “pentagon” a unique mathematical figure, the root to the famous golden ratio, Pythagoras, religious symbol and a lot more!!

In some of the pentagons he used bits and pieces of mirrors!!

In the photo you see a lot of reflections, on the left hand, you can discover partly my wife Déanne with a handbag and the legs are the mirror image of my legs (LOL)

Hope you like this upload as a different angle to all your wonderful reflection uploads!!

If you like to know more about the pentagons and Marc Bijl, please search the internet, Wikipedia for instance!!

Regards

Henk

Splendid images, my friends! Congratulations to you all! :-)

I had little time to take new photos, or look for something in the folders of the spent years.

I hope to include some pictures before the end of the month... otherwise we'll see you at the next challenge!

Have a good time!  :-)
