Quote - I can't post the file. Tell me how to do it and I'll try. Here is what I came up with.
When you reply to the message, there is a browse button down below the window you type in, next to a blank box that says Attach File. Just click it, then navigate to the directory where you saved the procedural to. then double click the file name. Thats it, the file name and path will now show in the blank box.
if you want to make a procedural texture for logs, you have to create seperate shading domains for the outer surface and for the ends. Because you need the outer surface to look like bark (not to look like wood grain), and the ends should have circular growth rings. And if you have modeled notches for the logs to nest into each other, they can also be in same shading domain as the ends.

Not a problem. I am using simple Cylinders for the logs, with a little displacement mapping to give them a rougher look.

Hi
I am working on a project and I need some help. I am doing a log cabin type structure on a lakeshore, however, I have not been able to come up with the decent procedural shader for the log wood grain. I was wondering if anyone had a good procedural for logs? If not, if anyone knew where some good free ones for C5 Pro might be found. I am just getting into making procedurals and I am not very good at it I am afraid, so I really need to find one I can use and also use as a reference. Thanks for any help in advance.
