Very nice cabiin. I live in Alaska where I see cabins all the time. I grew up in a log cabin my father built, and have skinned my share of logs. The image I posted above is passable as a skinned, oiled or treated log. A real log would have knots and more variations between the deeper cuts from the draw knife and the lighter cuts. The deeper the cut, the lighter the shade. The outside bark ( not the very outside ), the second layer drys darker. I'll try and post that shader again. You just need to post a smaller resolution - should be able to have something along the size of what I posted above.
