Subject: Poser fabric made in Carrara

I want to make a circular piece of fabric that would work in Poser 5's cloth room. I made a flat circular object but it wouldn't work.

Notefinger, depending on how your making it Carrara may be making the object with only a single vertex so it won't work. Subdevide the object, the more vertices the more realistic it will drape in Poser's cloth room. mike

You will have the best luck by creating a grid in the vertex room first and then doing a boolean subtraction. There will be a few extra vertexes around the edge that you easily delete. If you just do a boolean with an inserted plane and cylinder, the resulting object will have a weird pinwheel trangulation that does not work well as dynamic cloth. Mark

Subdividing is the secret.
I started with a square subdived vertex thingy and draped it in Poser.

It works like a charm once you know how to fiddle the 27 million possibilities that prevent it from falling right through the thing you want to drape it on, or from falling forever.

I also did the cloth on the lady's arm. She will be standing next to the table.

Looks great! I wish Carrara had that natively instead of having to go into Poaer to make it happen.

Can't wait for Carrara 6! That must have softbodies, don't you think? (I am lying, I can, C5 is good for the time being, very good)
