Thanks again for all your recent comments on my pictures. It is so nice that people take the time to look at my images. Also, I have to compliment so much of the work I see in these galleries. There is such a high standard and it is so inspiring to see the work and imagination of so many talented artists. I try to comment on as much as I can, but obviously this can get a bit overwhelming when there is so much amazing stuff to see.
The inspiration for this image came from playing around with the filters in Gimp. I don't do much postwork (mostly because I don't really know what I'm doing) but like adding the occasional effect here and there if I feel it adds something to the image.

Cool post-work (I rarely ever know what I'm doing with post-work. It's always been a learn it when I need it or make it up as I go along kind of thing for me). Thanks for posting and sharing, it's a real pleasure to visit your gallery.

Awesome! Post work in gimp is something I'm new to as well... mostly for rendering different passes with different lights and compositing the images (and fixing shadows when someone's feet are six inches above the ground...) Love your work!

Gimp is so cool, it's certainly my favorite, and I have cs5.1! If you get a chance, experiment with the path tool and some text, then make it neon! It's in the filter section near the bottom =) Back to your image ;-) I think you've made an excellent choice with Dublin, one I should pick up but haven't yet. She lends herself to a certain timelessness, though usually you can pick her out of a line-up. These images are always fun, but in the back of your mind, you always wonder what the color version looks like. Might be a good idea one of these days to do another side by side or top and bottom comparo.
