Description

...reference my last upload (see below). ...went back to the Evergreen Cemetery yesterday to get a closer look at the needles and cones to identify what type of an evergreen tree it is. ...took more pictures and lo and behold upon showing the end of a branch and several cones to a friend we had dinner with last night, he immediately said, "Sequoia". And to prove his point, he showed us the 50-60 foot tall sequoia in his backyard:) Case Closed! Bill P.S. The Sequoia pictured above is approximately 110 feet tall. P.S.S. A good website reference Sequoias here. "Evergreen" thumb_2297292.jpg

Wow I don't know much about trees but I should have remembered this. I went to visit the Grizzly Giant in Mariposa Grove, Yosemite......and I remember it being a Sequoia! OOOPS but it would have been a guess at best anyway!

Cool clarity and colors in this charming collage, Bill. The tombstones really give emphasis as to the size of this beautiful Sequoia.

We have a very similar looking tree in our front yard, I have never been quite able to figure what it was, its huge and very tall, one year since we've lived here (13 years) it got this very odd growth like fruit on it. Wish I had some photos of it I had taken some at the time but I think I deleted them so I wonder if Sequoias get that type of growth from time to time this was almost an orange sort of looked like the stuff inside of a pumpkin not kidding me and my daughter joked that our tree had been captured by aliens during the night when we saw all that. Going to check out your link there and see.
