I was walking in an unfamiliar landscape; a landscape of almost other-worldly beauty and calm. A woodland garden of extraordinary beauty. The scent of the many blossoms was everywhere, and the air was so clean and pure you could breathe it all the way down to your soul. A breeze; pleasantly cool and refreshing caressed my face as I strolled placidly through this wonderland. I breathed deeply, and felt all the stresses and cares of the 'real' world evaporate into the distant mists. Somewhere, on the periphery of my hearing, a brook was singing its song, a song lost through the ages in the chaos of my waking world.
As I inhaled the perfume of a patch of purple and blue flowers, I became aware of a presence. I turned, and saw before me one of the most beautiful women I had ever beheld. Tall and graceful she was, with eyes of grey, and long, dark hair. Her face was full of ageless beauty, her lips soft and glossy in the dimming light. Her skin was pure and light, but not pale; it was as if she were made of moonlight on a clear starry night. She seemed to almost glow as the sun receded, and the moon made her grand entrance.
"Welcome." She said softly. "I am Mirai. Welcome to my garden." She smiled a warm and welcoming smile that put me a little more at ease. I told her my name, and asked her "Are you an elf? You are so beautiful." She smiled again. "Yes, I am of what you call the Elven race. Look now upon this" she said as she extended the glowing orb to me. It was a green color; a soft light issued from it. As I watched, images began to appear inside the glowing orb. I saw beauty even more amazing than this garden. I saw far distant shores, and glorious sunrises. I saw moons, and planets undiscovered. I saw nebulae, and galaxies, and wonders of incredible, far distant worlds. I also saw wars, and terrible destruction. I saw burning cities, I saw entire planets once green and verdant changed into deserts and burned out cinders. And I saw a great palace, where the races of Men and Elves were once again standing side by side, vowing to never allow the darkness to take hold again.
The images faded. "What you have seen has partly come to pass. The evil and darkness is ever seeking to hold sway over all life in the universe. The destruction you have seen has not yet taken place. It will not, for that is why I am here. The races of Men and Elvenkind must once again reunite as in days long past. In this way, we can together hold the forces of darkness at bay, and ultimately defeat them."
She smiled and said softly. "I will come to you again. You will know when the time is right. Until that moment, I give you this." She held forth a single blossom from the ones she held in her right hand. "This will remind you of me. It will never wilt, and it will never lose its fragrance. Keep it, and know we shall meet again. When you smell its perfume, I will know, and I will feel your presence." I took the flower from her hand. Her finger briefly touched mine, and at that moment I felt a warmth, and a feeling of calm that would stay with me always. She smiled more sweetly than ever before. "Namarie" she said softly in the Sindairn tongue. "Farewell. We shall meet again."
I awoke, feeling a peace I had not known in years. I smiled as I lay there for a moment, wishing I could go back to sleep, and enter Mirai's garden again. As I threw the blankets off, and rolled over to get up, I smelled a familiar fragrance. There, on my pillow, was a small purple and pink flower.

You may call me weird, but the very first thing I thought of was Homer Simpson in the background shrieking and yelling "BEES!" while you are trying to narrate the story. This is what happens when I overload on pizza.

heheheh i had to come to the end of the story and then it hit me wich way i should comment this delightful bit. i only refer to the blanket sentence,when i usually throw off my blankets there is also a familiar smell underneath lol lmao ,but far away from flower fragrance muahahahaha.

Wow Rod, well you KNOW I'm a BIG fan of elves, especially Tolkien's elves. Hmm...this elf has raven black hair and gray eyes...I'd say from the line of Elrond and Elros! I loved what she showed you in the dream! Another alliance of elves and men! Wonderful!! Treasure those flowers that she gave you! It is not everyone who receives a present from an elf! I love the background and lighting and the pose on the elleth. Great job!!!

you quickly get undressed in record time, totally naked... you dive back into bed, you smell the flower as you drift back into the dream world... this time she approaches you, she notices you're naked.... once again you wake up, kick the covers off, crawl out of bed and notice the flower is gone... you panic and look and look... but no luck... oh well, it's time to shit, shower and shave... you decide to shave first. while looking in the mirror, you see the end of the flower up you nose, you pull it out, it hurts, a note is attached to it.... on the note?: "Don't come back here naked again you little pervert or I'll cram this flower up a bigger hole of yours and you'll have a harder time getting it out" LOL... sorry, I love part 2 to stories - lol
