Description

February 2008 update: Over the last couple of days I facelifted this image, as a part of my preparations for the upcoming EXPOSE 6, in which I try to appear with at least one of my works. Keep your fingers crossed . What was revised/changed: -the palm trees were replaced by some glorious conifers (spruces). I thought conifers would give the image more verticality -I tweaked the light rays a little bit -I added falling maple leaves (from some trees above the cave entrance), to give the image even a more pronounced fantasy feel- this took an entire day, I'm glad it's over ...and that's all Finally finished this after 2 and 1/2 months. I won't say but one thing: it's the biggest and meanest project I have ever worked on. It's enough said it practically kneeled my PC. Overall, I'm a little unsatisfied with the result, but that's how life is. Anyway, enjoy it as it is. Tech info: -original resolution: 7500x5000 -file size: 598MB -yes, you've read correctly... -time spent: ~250 hrs. -layers used: 300+ Software info: -Lightwave 8 for everything -Photoshop CS2 for assembly process and (a lot of) additional drawing -XFrog 3.5 for vegetation -ZERO PHOTOS USED, everything was digitally created 100% details: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40205924/ PS: It takes my PC 6 minutes to open the .PSD file, and 17 mins. to save it! Talking about a system upgrade, huh? :D

Yikes! After 250+ hours I'd be 'a little unsatisfied' with the Mona Lisa...but since it's 'not too bad' I'd probably keep it - LOL!
