Subject: texturing within max

I was reading a tutorial on applying textures to models in 3dsmax I'm wondering if, after applying UV co-ords etc. and making the texture map line up on the model, if I then export, and import into poser, would this existing texture work on the model in poser, or is it a kinda max-only deal? I'm thinking, if I could make the UVmap before I start to modify the parts I could come up with a much nicer map I guess the other option would be to export an object, say a box, with the right number of vertices, UVmap this, then export the "real" geometries, and apply these as a morph, so I can have "flat" mapping to them or am I just going about this the totally wrong way? The Poser texture mapping is retained when an object is imported into Max. The same is true in reverse...the Mapping applied in Max will be retained when bringing it into Poser. For best results, I do using the obj file format when moving objects between the two. Foxhollow

Being a little slow on the uptake, I only figured this out a couple of days ago- it is much, much easier to pick the correct polygons in Max and apply a material to them, and as Foxhollow said, the Habaware exported will pass them through, if you have the texture buttons on. I'll never, ever, use the dreaded Poser grouping tool again!
