OK, I know it's not the most brilliant image, but it's the first image which I actually created the figures for =) These skaven which normally are cowardly can get dangerous when found in numbers, definately pack huters. The human is Kal, the hero from a comic series I want to make, I was going for the phantom-of-the-opera look with him, do you think I pulled it off or not? SewerRat (once again, no the skaven have nothing to do with my nickname)

I love your character. But I have never seen the shaven before. Are they yours? They look really cool. :) Anton

Thanks Anton =) A few fantasy (orcs, goblins etc.) writers and games have skaven in them, but they don't seem to be very common so no, I didn't invent them =) SewerRat

aaaah true Allerleirauhwhatever... 'cept there were minatures and rat-people around already =) but yeah, I believe GW were the ones to actually name them Skaven and give them a big role =) SewerRat

Skaven were definately created by Games Workshop for the Warhammer Fantasy Battle game. They are enourmously popular in this game, they include the likes of rat-ogres etc. Unfortunately, though they do look good, your figures don't actually look anything like the proper skaven. Not knocking your skills or anything, the image is good, but if you want to see what real skaven look like go to any Games Workshop site.

I've got a skaven right in front of me yeah, the GW skaven have more streamlined, little ears, thicker eyebrows with small beady eyes, a tail (shit, I can't believe I forgot that!) and they have white patches on their head on the eyebrows, around the mouth, and ears...but those I think can be added with a texture map (I hope) If I flatten the head then change the ears (with a morph, I think it's bloodsongs) then it actually does kinda look like the GW ones IMHO...I think it's mostly the clothing they're wearing that makes them look different But I didn't actually want to copy GW, I wanted that general idea, so I had GW skaven in front of me to guide me, but these are meant to be more contempory, for a comic where they live under Sydney City =) I've opted to go with big cat eyes instead of beady rat eyes 'cause in dark images like I tend to make the large eyes work better, maybe I should copy across a morph to make more rat-like eyes =) SewerRat
