This is Carol with Eovia support. You wrote... > Dear Eovia, As of a couple of weeks ago Carrara users and Amapi users > where asked to register their products at the Eovia site. But when > I registered my Carrara Product I never received a confirmation of > registration from Eovia. Is this something that is going to be sent > out to all registered users so we can verify that we will be eligible > for the updates from Eovia. We do not send an automatic reply or acknowledgement of receipt upon receiving registration email. I myself think it's a good idea. I'll suggest this to my Webmaster and hopefully he'll think it's a good idea, too. If you've registered on-line and answered all the questions, you are eligible for updates and upgrade pricing. Registering your software is certainly a good idea as it does allow us the opportunity to keep record of your ownership. Should you lose your password key or serial number (and need it) in the future, we would have record of it and your ownership, and could easily give it to you ( without the hassles of proof of purchase etc., etc...you get the idea). As well, upgrading your software will be much easier if you're in our database. It's pretty basic, we need some sort of information to validate your ownership. > We as users have waited some what patiently for updates and news, > please keep us informed as to what is happening. We appreciate your patience. Honestly, as of late, we have nothing of news to tell. We have sent aaa..lll...ooo...tttt of email to get folks together and turn them on to Eovia and what we're doing. We have the patch for Carrara 1.0-1.01 available for download ( in case you were unaware). Info on the upcoming, updated version release of Carrara by Eovia is available on our site. It looks like the end of June or an early summer release of Carrara ( tentative). Trust me Kevin, when Carrara is ready we'll be the first to tell you about it. Until then. Thank you! Sincerely, Carol Fraccalvieri carol@eovia.com

That's great but what about the new patch? The 1.01 patch is old news, and not that helpful. We need a new patch, not a new Carrara. We need a patch to fix the program we originally bought. If not I'll buy something else, and you won't be getting any of my money for new version of Carrara. We were promised a new patch a while ago, and some of us are getting a little pissed off about this whole thing, are you listening?????We want a new patch! We want a new patch! We want a new patch! We want a new patch! We want a new patch! Is that clear enough??

So, let me see if I understand you -- you want a new patch? :o)

To say the least!

Have we all just given up ona new patch from Eovia? Or am I the only one still waiting(hopelessly most likely)? It's just one big pain in the ass! It looks like Eovia could care less about the old Carrara users, and just wants to sell everyone a new version and make some money. If anyone out there from Eovia is reading this, don't take us for fools. You make it sound like the 1.01 patch is a big revelation to us, we've all had that patch for a year and Carrara is still a piece of crap with mental problems of it's own.

Kaom: I am with you. We ware promised a patch this month, it is already the 23 and I don't see Eovia dumping a patch on us if they are so close to releasing Carrara 2.0, which I will not get until the product that I bought more than a year ago works!! Carrara is so unstable that I stop doing 3D work altogether. It seems Eovia is in real need of some $$$ and the patch wold actually work against them at this point since if Carrara was made to work good, we would put up upgrading for some time. But if they think I am going to through money at them for something that was supposed to work right in the first place, they got another thing coming.

cristianr: it's good to hear from someone else that feels the same about Cararra. They just want to sell us Amapi and a new version of Carrara, they are clearly not giving us a new patch anytime soonn if ever. We got screwed by our pals Metafu#kations and here we are wishing for a fix that will never come. Eovia is full of crap, they lied to us, and now we have an orphan program with no new support.

I am with you kaom and cristianr I quit using that damn program cause like you said, it has some mental problems of it's own. Why should anybody throw money at a new release of the program when they can't get their money back if it don't work right.....and it still may have a lot of mental problems.

There are 10 kinds of people: Those who know binary, and those who don't.

A whiner is about as useful as a one-legged man at an arse kicking contest.
