There is a place when you respond that say's "attachment" you can add the image directly there..
800 pixels is the limit..
At the top of respond box, on the upper right, there is a little ICON that looks like a post card, that is where you can add an image that is hosted outside of Renderosity..

Too funny, as soon as I saw the original shot, I had the same sort of idea as you with your " An alien from another prickly world." Then I scrolled down and thought "Dang!!!, it's been done already"
But I'm sure I can come up with something else....
They say a picture is
worth a thousand words...
So where do they go when a photograph leaves you
speechless?

Please don't let me stop you from posting "your" version of a prickly alien !! The more aliens the better!!! LOL
Whaleman, glad you joined in! Yours looks rather "otherworldly" too!!! AND!!! Since you were the first person to post, you get to start the next DITI on Sunday or Monday!
Let's see more! Come on Helle, I know you are very creative and have something up your sleeve!

Very cool, Bill! It seems a little "otherworldly" to me!
I know what you mean about not keeping track of everything you do to a photo. I often play with various programs that have different presets and filters and fun things, but I don't keep track and then someone asks "how did you do that"? I haven't the foggiest! Actually that's not true, I usually can get close, but to get an exact same look..... no way. Part of the problem is using a filter generator that has a random button and then not writing down the formula. Too much work and then it wouldn't be fun anymore! LOL :P

Hi Kim...I agree. I could come close. The key 1st step for me with your pic was to use the PS Eliptical Marquee Tool, but a circle around your succulant plant and enlarge the entire thing a fair amount and then to go to work on it with three types of filters...those from Virtual Photographer, Xero and PS. Suddenly the solid ball that had completely encapsulated the plant opened up like you see it now. Added two PS lens flares and here we are. I learned a ton from going through all of this! I applaud you choice of DITI pics. :) Bill

Tom, now that has to be an alien planet, I don't think that cactus would survive in water too long. LOL :P
Bill, I use Virtual Photographer too, there are some very interesting filters included in that one. The other program I use alot is "Harry's Filters". I really like the random generator in that program, you can jump (one filter at a time) or you can put it on a loop that cycles through each filter and color and you can stop it when you see something you like. You can also play with them manually just like VP.
AND yes, I always learn something while playing with Ditis! There is something about seeing a picture that YOU didn't take and thinking "Hey.... I wonder what that would look like if you did this to it, then try to get that look. OR just play with filters and tools until you come up with something really interesting. I tend to save my ditis in a folder and go back to look at them now and again to get some inspiration!
Thanks for playing along, guys and gals!!!
