Hi,

every time I bring in P4 male into poser 7, its hip gets shifted (pls see leank below)...

Is this a bug with Poser 7? is there a fix for this problem (short of hiding the hip!)....This only happens for P4 male.....

your thoughs / advice would be greatly appreciated....

thank you

Are you loading from a linked runtime of the P7 runtime? It looks like hi hip has custom geometry. Make sure that's the original P4 Male CR2 file.

Nerd,

thanks for your reply.....the P4 male character is the original model (and works fine with Poser 6)....

Not too clear on your note about "linked runtime"..... do you mean like a seaprate "runtime" directory besides the P7 "runtime" directory?

Cheers

I just loaded the P4 male into P7 and did not get the problem so I can't really advise a fix, but it looks like the alternate geometry (i.e. hipNo Gen) is referencing a different obj file than the one intended for this figure. The only thing I can think of is you'd have to examine the cr2 and see what file path is being referenced and look to see where that obj is located as opposed to the correct file, the cr2 would need to reference the file to that exact file path.

the "linked runtime" refers to a runtime outside P7, for example, I have both P5 and P7 installed, but have added the P5 runtime to the P7 lineup.  (look into "Add Runtime") if you already have additional runtimes added, the cr2 for that male figure may be finding the hip no gen file for a different figure in a different runtime.

Syntrifid,

good advice on checking the .obj file path in the .cr2 file....... :c)

I see what you guys mean by linked runtime.....I do have 2 runtime directory... one for P7 and another outside P7 (that includes P4 and P6 characters).....all other characters load fine, the only issue is the P4 male character......

thanks again for your help....

cheers

Is this a Poser 7 installed from a DVD? If so go get the patches and install them. If I recall there was a bug in the initial release (and therefor on the dvd) where it was possible to get the wrong geometry loaded with a figure.

If you already have the patch see what happens when you change the genitals option.
