thanks to a little addon for Firefox, we can now get accurate page loading speeds for a website.. so.. Ebay.com : 0.160s Freefall (webcomic) : 0.219s BBC News : 1.234s POserforums : 1.320s Caligari Forums : 1.453s DAZ Forums : 2.656s Amazon.com : 5.532s then we have... Renderosity : 11.610 (change to Poser forum) Renderosity : 11.470s (opening new post page in Community center) ....oops. I hope this can help the staff here find out what is choking the site. as you can see from th figures, it ain' my connection thats at fault...

I just got it, Khai...thanks.

I went from the main forums page to here in 1.432s.

This is because there are only 1597 surfers currently online.

Enjoying being able to keep numerical track on page loadings now.

EDIT:It then took 24.365s for my reply to show up here.

I still reckon they're using a Sinclair ZX81 farm tied up to 100,000 recycled Casio calculators as a server bank :D

11 seconds? I've had a window open trying to post a message to the poser forum here for the last 20 minutes! This geriatric software must be partly to blame.

In Windows, Command Prompt> (type) tracert renderosity.com and hit Enter. Gives an idea of the speed and the route.

Khai ( ) posted Thu, 08 December 2005 at 6:47 PM

tis on the bottom bar of the Firefix window... yup eudoxus, you'll get a connection speed with that.. but not the loading speed. doing that I can get a connection to the server of roughly the same as you show there. but the page takes 11-30 seconds to be sent from the server to here. if it's sent at all.

Ahhhh...I got it now! 1.188s to get back to this page....which is weird as it usually takes me several seconds if not minutes to get into any forum here at any given time.. Thanks :)

I am not changing browsers...and am really tired of waiting for page changes/loading...today I posted a comment in the showcase gallery...and got SO TIRED of waiting, I copied what I said (in case) closed the site, reopened and went..and there my post was!!! HUH!??!?! As soon as the load hits 2500+ the forums slow waaay down...actually now the galleries are faster and store seems fine...so maybe somehow the servers are letting the forums take the bandwidth "hit"... really have no idea...but my experience.

Life Requires Assembly and we all know how THAT goes!

Yeah, I know. I meant for comparison. I typed in the command "renderositypageload.time" and the voice from Windows Narrator just started laughing at me.
