As an add on; Any email that asks you to (re)enter your credentials is to be concidered fake. No company would ever do that.

Now they're targeting photographers?! grrrrr.... I used to not worry about security until one too many spyware programs(i think that's what it was) crashed my PC. I just picked up a PC Magazine(Nov. 22, 05') with a special report on security. It's insane the lengths one must go to to secure their computer(s). I've spent the last few days working on this computer here...and I still have a ways to go b4 I do everything as recommended in the magazine. It takes alot of time and above average level of computing saviness to do it correctly. Required downloads and updates can take forever on a slow dial up connection. Installing software, running scans all the time, performing special configs and the list goes on....Even after taking every precaution there's still risk of being hacked or infested. It is unfortunate a few malicious people make life more difficult for everyone on the Internet, except maybe for the Internet security software vendors who profit from selling security suites and subscriptions.
I have my share of spyware security and virus security stuff..still, after the fact is too late if in a "weak moment" a link is clicked and info is given to a phisher. When totally not sure I write the honest site and send a copy of the email, link, etc. 100% of the time so far, all suspicious stuff has been spoof messages and dark side links. This message from Brian should help a few folks out there avoid some real messes. Thanks.
I am amazed at the number of scams out there. I get so many things that say they are from eBay, PayPal, or Amazon that all turn out to be fakes. They look so real now. The best way I have found to find out if a link is fake, aside from sending it to the company in question, is the copy the link they provide and past it into the browser bar...not actually going there mind you. If it ins't purely that site and has suspicious additions...don't do it. Thank you Brian, and thank you Dead Bird Brand!! =o]

A new trick in On line Phising, and this time it uses Yahoo! Photos as the Bait, imitating the Yahoo! Photo Site almost exactly. Users may be lured to the fake site via emails sent by Viruses or through IM Messages which contain a deceiving Link. Once a User clicks on the Link, a Page will appear requesting them to log in using their Personal Account. This Page is used to Steal User ID's and Pass Words which may then be used for malicious purposes. No one is really interested in Stealing Your Images ...it is Your Identity that they want. Internet Security expert Trend Micro reminds Users to visit the Yahoo Page directly to Sign in to Yahoo Photos, and avoid clicking on any Links found in emails that ask You to Sign in. ~~~ A Public Service Announcement brought to You by "Dead Bird Brand" ~~~
