Subject: "No importer for the file format can be found" error message

I just loaded DAZ Studio 1.O. I had it search for all Poser content. When ANY objects were attempted to be loaded this error message was given: "No importer for the file format can be found" Now what?

Sounds like something went wrong with the installation and the import plugins are missing or the path is not set - do you have DAZStudiopluginsdzpz3importer.dll on your system?

Yes, I have that file 'dzpz3importer.dll' Now what?

Try reinstalling - it sounds as if the path to the plugins has not been set correctly. Do you use Bryce 5.5, and launch D|S from within it? There was a problem a while back with that wiping the path information, though if it runs at all with D|S 1.0 on the system you should be up-to-date: still, if you haven't downloaded the Bryce 5.5 c update it may be worth trying.

DAZ studio worked fine when I insalled it on my laptop last week.

Same security software and settings on both machines? What happens if you copy the dzpz3importer.dll from your laptop to the equivalent folder on the system where it isn't working? Can you perform 3Delight (software) renders on the non-working system, or create primitives with the PrimitivesPlus plugin (free from DAZ if you don't have it)?

To give this drama a happy ending, I first deleted and reinstalled DAZ Studio which didn't work. I then turned off the PC ( I hadn't done this since I installed the program) and after restarting, DAZ Studio worked. The End

Ah, these high-endurance systems. Mine gets turned off every night so that's rarely an issue.
