Hey, I just checked my e-mail that DAZ looks at (it's sort of my "trash" e-mail that all of the advertisements go to). I saw the newsletter they sent me on the 16th.

How many times does this make it that they've pushed back the Bryce 5.5 content freebies? Three? Four, even?

Makes me wonder if it isn't doing so well, if they feel like they have to promote it so much. With any other company (like Corel for instance =P) I would be sure, but with DAZ you never know.

Your thoughts?

It could also be selling really well and they want to keep it going, raking in more sales...

there's tons of clueless newbies coming in and buying the little native bryce stuff there is. and most of those up for sale now at daz are pretty useless. drac

Here are some of my models... (still got a lot) I've made many differents models, there is some interesting stuff, useless stuff too... all is made with bryce and I got a nice SFX pack too! This makes me wonder if I should make a CD by myself and sell it, but I have no time for this I guess.. And as I'm in europe, I should make an online payment system such as paypal or other.. Should all my stuff be on a cd or just a downlodable file?

( I would prefer to make some money LOL.. but it's quite hard to do that in France.. Those seriously high class models! I would ask Agent Smith about different options on how to sell them here at renderosity maybe.I'm not too sure on how france does stuff(like that permit you mentioned).You could probably find someone to be a "dealer" in the USA and give them a 10% cut of profits, then wire the rest to you privately through paypal as a donation or something.I'm not too sure.....Sweet stuff though.

Yes, why not sell them here at R'osity? Definately something you should check out--unless you're like draculaz and will give out such awesome models for free =) But I agree with Bolt you should talk to AS and find out what's what. Wot? =)

I might actually buy the triangular ship ("Atlante"? Hard to tell, is very small =P). It looks very cool and right up my alley. Just depends on pricing I suppose. I generally avoid using other people's models because I want to learn how to model as well as composition. Take care and good luck! =)

The availability of the Bryce 5.5 Content Kit/Seriously Real Materials for free with 5.5 has only been changed, once, not three or four times and was done to accommodate the release of the boxed version.

Um... I remember getting two or three newletters from DAZ about the "deadline being pushed back". Maybe I misunderstood them, maybe not. If you're right though it does make more sense. I still think that 5.5 is a worthles upgrade, but that's been rather overdiscussed so I'll leave it alone! =)

Aye, but I wonder why? DAZ is constantly offering great deals, so it might just be that, but... I wonder if there is a reason why DAZ is pushing 5.5 so hard? Like maybe they aren't making much money on it? Or maybe they are making a lot of money and are simply trying to extend it. Personally, I'm inclined to vote for the former. But it's probably somewhere in between. =)

Whether its soda, a car, a movie, or software. Look at what Vue did to lure Brycers away. Now, THAT'S hard. The more money DAZ makes, the more they will REALLY want to make a Bryce 6, so I'm all for it, myself. :oD AS

Watchit! =) Yeah, that makes sense. I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say that Vue tried to lure Brycers away (I hadn't even heard of Vue until I joined R'osity a few months back), but personally I don't think that they need to advertise to me. I see plenty of what Vue can do here at R'osity, and it's very impressive. But I don't even have enough money for 5.5 (all of $70 lol), so I certainly can't afford Vue. I think that Wings has more possibility of stealing Brycers away. It won't really replace Bryce unless some really major improvements are made, okay a lot of really major improvements, but it beats Bryce all to pieces in modeling any day. Unless they improve modeling support for Bryce6. Just look at how many Bryce "gods" use Wings. Phil Drawbridge for instance, even you and me AS (though I would hardly count myself as a Bryce "god" lol). It's really far away and above better than Bryce in most instances for modeling, though Bryce is still far superior in my opinion for rendering. Just my UIR (Unfocused Idiot Rambling).

Oh, lol...back when a new Vue was coming out (v5?), Vue offered that any BRYCE user could prove them with their serial number...and then they would get a very good discount to "upgrade" to Vue. That was a bit of a low blow, but I gotta admit, a very tactical marketing ploy. Oh, I don't know about Wings stealing Brycers away, but I think that Wings is THE best way for anyone to learn traditional 3D modeling, since it is so close to professional modeling packages, and it is free. I think its the perfect freeware companion to Bryce, if not any other program. AS
