I thought you might like to see how he's coming along! Modelling is nearly finished, just a little tweaking to do, ignore the plinth thing, I just threw that together at the last minute. I intend creating a realistic (ish!) texture for him and attempting a realistic render.

And a quick render!

Cool...there's something odd about brow though...I can't put my finger on it (well duh, it's a cg model, you can't touch those). Seriously though, shouldn't there be more of a transition between his eyebrow and forehead? Or was Alfie a serious cueball? Either way, it's killer work, Baz. Loving it.

Cheers Teyon! Hmm, gonna have to check my refs on the brow, I thought it was OK but when I've been staring at a piece of work for too long I regularly miss errors :o) Thanks for the feedback mate! - Baz

Can't model heads (only potato heads), but I have to say this is an incredible likeness. Though you might want to revisit the column base to do the bust some justice. :oP Cheers! M

Cheers Moe! Yeah the pedestal thing is pretty ropey! I was modelling this for the Wings forum monthly challenge, it was going to be a close up realistic flesh and blood job. I ended up running out of time and hastily changed it into this marble bust affair to meet the deadline - which has now been extended LOL! Anyway, I'm still going to do the realistic texture if I can but I kinda like this look too so I may rework the base :o) - Baz

Just great, I wish I could do people, or anything organic for that matter, it's so Hitchcock it's untrue. I do think the ears are too low though, imagine a pair of glasses on him to see what I mean. He had features at the extremes of the norm, but this is just that jot outside those parameters. John

bonestructure ( ) posted Tue, 24 February 2004 at 7:15 PM

It's looking fantastic. And Hitch did have odd low ears

Thanks for the comments folks! I have had problems with the ears, they look different in every pic I can find so I been endlessly moving and resizing them! I'll take a look again :o) - Baz
