So, I took that as a challenge and tried my hand at an atan2 approximation myself:
The rightmost row in the bottom part produces min(abs(x) / abs(y), abs(y) / abs(x)) so that we get an argument between 0 and 1. The center row then computes the approximation 1.5707 * t / (0.62 + sqrt(0.9035 + t^2)) for arctan(t) which I found on Stack Exchange and tweaked a little bit in Desmos. Finally, the row on the left plus the node labelled atan2 above it do all the necessary "unfolding" to get from 8 copies of the angle range 0 through pi / 4 to the full function.

Well, it does definitely work for my little stars, but I don't feel particularly inclined to "read" that compound node. :-)

Thanks for the info, primorge! If you get it to work with your personal project and it doesn't look like a massive p.i.t.a., I might consider viseme support as an add-on or minor upgrade for Antonia.

Okay, this is way off topic, but could someone explain to me why this whole viseme business is such a challenge? Antonia's face morphs are based on one of Osipa's systems, so I'm assuming there shouldn't be much missing in order to create visemes. I tried, unsuccessfully, to find documentation on that famous morph map file or whatever it's called, so I can't say for sure. Is the problem here that no one who knows how to do it and has the skills to is in fact interested in doing it?

Thanks, Mr. Baggins! Well, if you ever happen to come across forgotten backups of those scripts, let us know! :-)

I really like Nova's looks but if I were a vendor I wouldn't touch her without some kind of endorsement from DAZ.

I'm back at it with the overalls and decided to try a different nip-slip-prevention method for these. Instead of "gluing" the fabric to specific parts of the skin, I'm adding an invisible strip of fabric between the two straps. The downside is that it's always there and can't be turned on or off, which I think is fine in this case. Another downside is that it's not as foolproof as the "gluing" because the fabric can still slide about relative to the skin, but that also prevents unsightly crumpling.

Not directly related to dynamic clothes, but I decided to finally sit down and work out how to make a procedural star pattern.

Incidentally, I think I'll need to shorten the sleeves by an inch or two, because at the current length they have a tendency to get caught in the elbow crease.

So, I think I finally have a concept for a "D" outfit. It will be the .... *drumroll* ... deity outfit, and it will be based on my experiments with Minoan fashion, seeing as one of the well-known figurines from the Minoan culture is commonly known as the snake goddess. Since simulating two long skirts on top of each other is not so useful, I will include the underdress on its own as a garment, plus the version in the picture which is composed of the top part of the underdress combined with a waistband/belt and a long skirt. Then there will be an apron/bodice piece to go on top of that, and possibly some conforming things like the aforementioned head piece and bracelets. If folks ask nicely, I might also give her a shawl so she can cover up her historically accurate bare breasts.

Dang it, I'm afraid my dabbling in Minoan-inspired outfits is a slippery slope that will lead straight to bracelets and head pieces.

The overalls, a quicky indeed considering my regular turn-around times, are now ready to be packaged up and published, so as is my habit, before I actually go ahead and do that, I'm starting on my next project, a Minoan underdress. At long last, here's a garment where I don't have to worry about keeping the fabric from sliding of the breasts.
