AI Generated Art F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Aug 27 11:07 am)
Dream, by Wombo https://dream.ai/create
Hi everyone, even though I've been on this forum for a long time I rarely post but over almost two months now I've been getting into A.I. art. I started off with Dream by Wombo then moved on to Stable Diffusion and now I'm onto Dall-e2. I go between all three to see what kind of results I'll get between them. I was going to upload some of my A.I. pictures here but the sizes were a little too large and re-sizing them would have taken too long. As far as my art goes, I don't really have a particular style, my work ranges anywhere between the silly and the serious. BTW I like everything that's been posted here and I particularly liked the heavy metal hamsters. They gave me a smile. :o)
I have an account with my work here:
https://openart.ai/@spaniel_scared_82
BTW, one of the first prompts I used when I first encountered Dream by Wombo was "twilight zone". (Minus the quotes of course.) You never know what you'll get when you use that prompt. One time I got an image in black and white of a man in a room wearing a black three piece suit and white shirt who looked pretty similar to Rod Serling. I really should have saved that one. On my openart account linked above I tried that prompt in Dall-e2 and I got surprised again. I won't tell you what I got but if you check out the website you'll see it along of course with my other works. Speaking of prompts here's one you may want to try in your A.I. generator of choice:
Human shadow, magical power, 3d, 4k trending on artstation, intricate designs and patterns, sharp focus, studio photo, intricate details, highly detailed, by Yuheng Jiang
I tried it in Stable Diffusion and I was surprised by what turned out. Anyway, hope you'll check out mu Openart works. I've always been an imaginative person and needless to say, this A.I. art is a great fit for me. I still have to upload my Wombo and Stable Diffusion art and that'll take a while. Hope you like what you see and have a good day.
Thanks yeah I've been trying Relaxed, just a tad slower which I really don't mind I'm old and slow anyway. I need to catch up somewhat on my backlog of images anyway and lighten up on the Ai generator anyway but it's so much fun and that's what's making Midjourney money...thanks for the tip for keeping track of usage, not that it will do me any good I can't even keep track of my Cell phone.Lenord posted at 11:14 AM Fri, 21 October 2022 - #4447193
On the standard sub no, you DO get unlimited, but only on Relaxed mode. I started the month doing all Relaxed, but nearing the end, I switched over to Fast as they don't carry forward to the next month. Once I run out I'll go back to Relaxed. TBH, it's not that much slower and I can do other stuff while I wait. Might even get a bit of housework done - ya never know hahaaaaaaaaaaWell something interesting happened this morning on Mid-J, I had an idea and wanted to investigate and after a couple variations I got a Warning "Out of fast time for the month" "don't worry though you can continue with (fast time) by adding $5-10-15 to your account or going to Relax mode). Now I thought I had an unlimited sub for a month...No it is limited to X number of images/month guess I reached X in a few days. I think they severely underestimated the number images an Addict might do ( or actually counted on it) it IS a money making generator after all. I'll use relax mode see how it works plus I have a big backlog of imagery to work on it's not like I'm Fired unemployed, I'm Retired I do what I want when I want.
Remember...No matter where you go there you are
I added stuff and used that Translator thingy on this image then reordered things because the result was so different than anything I wanted
this is the prompt I used
[a group of lights that are on a table a raytraced image inspired by cgsociety]::4 + [trending on mentalray menger sponge trending on artstattion recursive fractal]::5, light bulb, the spider thicket, medium dof, hyper detail, volumetric light from above, photorealistic, stylized, cinematic, 4k octane render, unreal engine, --ar 16:9 --q 2 --s 5000

Have you tried running your own install or do you just prefer MidJourney? I tried it out and yes, it does burn thru the image allotment fairly quickly, especially to someone who's new and trying to figure the thing out. They don't always tell you what counts against your credits. Well, if they did at the time I couldn't find it. I did like it, though not the hassle of searching all over the discord for wherever it would dump my stuff. But it's expensive, especially if you want the option to use your images commercially and if you wanted a private channel you'd have to be rich to afford it. Not to mention all the restrictions. I can see why they wouldn't want porn and the like on a public server but their banned words list is really over the top. Someone on reddit wanted a really BIG, fluffy cat and of course Maine Coons are known for their size and their floof. Put it in their prompt, hoping to get super-sized kitty and ... "Don't even try", they reported back. Equally amusing (not!) the phrase "no bra" is banned because of the PG even in private channel rule. But so is "no braid" because of course you can't type braid without b-r-a. And some folks think the TOS at places like Daz and R'osity are strict. At least here I can do fan art without hassle and nobody will automatically break out the ban hammer if I feel like posting a scene depicting the epic butt-kicking of Adolph Hitler by a sexy, bikini clad Black Panther. Or a Maine Coon cat.

No it wouldn't be Ai since I only have a water cooled Hex core with no AI operating system just win10pro
I don't really believe any of the so called Ai sites are actually Ai driven only a fast powerful Server or several of them, driving banks of video cards in an array similar to BitCoin Mining servers, of course BitCoin miners don't the GPUs for imagery their used as near real time transfer of information.

Well, the more vram you have the better. I thought my 6gb card in this new computer was as much as I'd ever need when I bought it back in March -- it was they only one available at the time, the other XPS systems left didn't even have discrete video cards, and I'm retired and on disability now, no need of a big work rig. Not to mention the Windows 7 rig that had just died on me only had a 2gb Nvidia card and I hadn't had any problem running Daz or Poser or other graphics intensive apps on that one, so I figured I was doing great going up from 2 to 6 gigs of vram. Ha! Shows what I know. Along comes AI for just about everybody and now I'm just scraping by on that GTX-1660.

I'm Retired live on fixed income too I bought my AMD system with the first Gov rebate check. An Lenovo Legion gamer AMD Ryzen 5 2600x Hex Core Water cooled with an AMD Radeon RX580 8 gig Vid Card it mostly handel everything I need. I primarily am a Fractalist using Mandelbulber with GPU rendering using openCL GPU operations. I do wish I had one of the newer series of Radeon Vid cards 16 gig Vram sounds nice and multi GPUs but alas the price of new or even older Upgrades are $$$.

I think all these Ai systems are actually algorithm driven systems Algorithms are held in Programable Array Logic(PALs) or Pin Grid Arrays(PGAs) so that's Hardware not Software. At least that's how I see it of course I've been out of the Industry for a while so who knows what they have come up with nowadays I haven't kept up with Hardware and Software development.

I have 16 gigs system ram on Windows 11 pro. It runs the version of Stable Diffusion you can download from here: https://nmkd.itch.io/t2i-gui?download Says name your own price but the Download Now button will take you to it for free and if it works and you like it you can donate whatever you feel it's worth to the creator. System requirements here: https://github.com/n00mkrad/text2image-gui/blob/main/README.md#system-requirements and there's a very active Discord where you can get all kinds of help, advice, etc. Maybe look into it?

If you can install these their just limited programs like any other App. True Ai is a learning program eventually and quickly it would eat up all the RAM it could find bye bye PC

:sigh: Does anybody know why this forum always loads Page 1 of the thread every time I click the go here link in the notifications? Would be nice if it went to the page the actual post it's notifying me about is on, like forums elsewhere do. Frustrating having to remember which page I was last reading while looking for the newest posts.

gillbrooks posted at 2:18 PM Fri, 21 October 2022 - #4447221It doesn't take a lot to run a local install. I have local installs on two separate systems. It takes VRAM. 4 gigs. There are builds that let you run on a less video RAM but I have a 4 gig card so no problem. As for system RAM. There is 16 on that machine with the 4 gig RTX card and the System Monitor only shows about 4.5 system RAM at peak load.Byrdie posted at 12:54 PM Fri, 21 October 2022 - #4447205All I have installed is Discord I can't believe any home computer could hold an Ai OS because it would have yo be an OS or an AI program that would take more system Ram than any normal user has. I have only just seen this thread after one in the Poser forum strayed into AI art and was locked and removed so I haven't perused the entire thread. I prefer a local install because like many here I am retired and broke. There is another reason though. Workflow. I'm an old school photographer. I treat this exactly the same way and that would cost me entirely too much cash.
Like photography I crank out a roll of film on my subject. (multiple images from the same prompt via random seed)
I peruse the results and pick one or two I can work with. (ai makes a lot of duds)
I then make a contact sheet of images at different exposures to pick an image I like. (grid layout x, y, plot of Steps vs CFG)
Now this step would be ai only. Run a seed variance plot to fine tune pose or scenery or whatever.
With my "final" print I would check it with a loupe looking for marks to "spot" out or fill. Burn and or dodge parts of my image that didn't have the contrast that I need. (inpainting and outpainting)
In some cases enlargements may be required (upscaling)
I am not entirely sure that type of workflow can done online and at a cost that makes it worth while.
Gotta love the Roadies for sure man. I had a good friend I worked with at Galaxy/Vally Pro Audio in Wichita, KS before I moved back to TX he was a member of the Stagehands Union in KS, he got me a gig with the union a couple summers. You see in KS the Law for Live Shows is the Roadies can only do the actual show the SHU has to do all the setup and teardown it was a gas working with the Roadies they were a trip plus we all would get Backstage passes for the Show, too cool. Most of the shows were Country (bummer) but did get to see Shania Twain doG she was hot and the band Collective Soul (God Rock) and Ozzy so it was worth the sweat. Can't forget about the roadies, an important part of any band...

@Gill, You did not tell it no skulls. That's obviously the loophole it found. Meanwhile, I do believe I've found that guy Schrodinger's cat. It's both there and not at the same time.

And his cousins, who can't decide if paintings or not. Then again, my prompt was simply "the most beautiful cat in the world", no other specifications. So I guess the AI went "whatever" and did its own thing.

You're welcome. BTW I received a message in my e-mail today telling me I have my first follower over on the openart website. I'll have to reciprocate and follow him as well.Lenord: that last image is fabulous!
Kenmac: you have very nice images on openart. thanks for the prompt suggestions.
That's cool, very different than what I got in Wombo or Dall-e2.
