Yes, I got swept along by the low-end Carrara deals at DAZ3D. 

Bought the specials and what do you know ?  It takes a very very very very long time to download the main app.  My notebook is valiantly struggling to get the download over my cable modem connection, while the DAZ3D server is obstinately refusing to give it up any faster that 4-5k bps.

I'm using my old beat-up PC to post this.

Congratulations.
Lol, It does sound like the servers at DAZ are getting slammed in order to have such slow downloads. Normally, if you can consider anything at DAZ normal, they have pretty fast D/L times for their content. I hope you will enjoy Carrara as much as I have and that you find it worth the wait! When you finally it installed and set-up, you will a pretty helpful group of people here to help you get started in getting comfortable with Carrara.
