Some of us still have and use Ray Dream.

I still have Ray Dream in a box somewhere, but haven't used it this century. I liked the old software, but I immediately found Carrara to be much easier to use. perhaps it wouldn't be too much an imposition to leave some mention of raydream somewhere in the headers.

I wonder if MAC users still think about PARC much.

If for no other reason than it's part of the history of Cararra. People should also know they can get Ray Dream help here.

Renderosity has a poll feature (there's a link there on the right, although there's nothing much in there). Maybe we can run a poll to settle the Ray Dream issue in a somewhat organized fashion? Do you know how to create a poll, Kixum?

As long as only Carrara and RayDream forum users get to vote, so other "countries" don't decide for us what we're called.

Nothing technical is EVER posted about the use of RayDream. The only RayDream posts that are ever made are those that Question the continuation of RayDream on the Carrara forum banner. Not to be un-democratic but why vote on an obviously dead topic. RayDream had its day YEARS ago. In truth there are virtually NO posts contributed that support the rare RayDream user's technical needs. I for one wish that we could move forward and focus on Carrara and forget RayDream. Sorry if this opinion offends anyone, however, RayDream is such a long past subject. Life goes on and things change. Why not the Carrara forum?

You know, Betamax was such a superior format to VHS.

And if you WEREN'T aware... betamax became (in an updated case) the basis for BetaCam, the industry standard for the last 10 years in broadcast and industrial video use. So, since it's still used, yet considered a BROADCAST standard, while VHS is falling by the wayside, and was NEVER a broadcast standard... who's to say what is still a usable software. I don't mind people talking about RayDream here. I just don't use it myself. MEANWHILE.. the discussions of wether Shade or DAZ is better then Poser... why are they here? ;)
