In January I had the pleasure of viewing an Ansel Adams exhibit in Wauconda IL.
"Classic Images: Ansel Adams
September 17 to January 8
This exhibition features 70 images from The Museum Set, a rare portfolio of photographs hand-printed by the artist (and considered by him to be the best of his life's work). The inspiring images of the Sierra Nevada, the sun-baked geometries of New Mexico, and the keen eye for the rhythmic detail of the natural world which characterizes Adam's work, are included in this authoritative collection."
It was so awesome to study them up close with the info about where and when (and sometimes why) the images were taken, and while no photography was allowed in the exhibit I did wander the museum grounds after and took this photograph.

You were obviously inspired by AA and suspect he'd be commenting very favorably on this well composed, deeply contrasted scenic image. I just picked up a book on AA at the library yesterday. Years ago (1964-65) I lived within a mile or two of him (Monterey, CA) but didn't know it!

At first I thought this an IR shot. Beautiful! I'm a huge fan of Ansel Adams work and Love B&W photography. His work is amazing!

I really like this image, for its soothing effect. The B&W work most perfectly in the composition, and sets a tone that really gives one that warm and cosy feeling..... Very tranquil... I wish I could be sitting on the bench.. taking it all in!
