Subject: Transferring textures from G3F resource to G8M

Hi, I know there must be a way to do this. HinkyPunk released a really great resource a while back for the female "Build A Babe" she's totally cool with using these resources for the Generation 8. What I've found with the male resources out there is that they tend to have leg hair and with the onset of fibermesh body hair becoming more and more popular I've been hunting around for an excellent hairless resource and have yet to find one but Hinky's resource when sharpened up and some tone alternations looks perfect for my needs but alas they do not fit the Genesis 8 Male's UV's. I tried in Photoshop to get things lined up but it's just so tedious and I fear I'd not get it lined up to my liking. I know there are tools in Blacksmith to transfer but there is nothing for the last two generations (3&8) so it's not doable with those tools but did see a Texture Transfer Brush. Is there a tutorial someone can share with me to help me get my head around how to use that correctly and hopefully I'll have my solution.

Hello RAMWolff,

I don't know this set. Could you check that it is using G3M base UVs please? Texture transfer brush can only transfer texture from a same character with different UVs If your set is using another uv set than the base, then load a G3M with baseUV and a G3M with the uvs used in the set, apply maps to it, create new maps and apply them to the character with Base uv and transfer. Now, your maps should fit correctly to your G8M character with BaseUV applied.

For what ever reason the UV's for the male and the females are slightly different but enough to make a direct apply not useable. I think there are products in the DAZ3D store to allow for use of switching UV's within DAZ Studio but I don't think there is a way to export the refitted maps

Map transfer

Hello RAMWolff,

I did have a look at map transfer in DAZ and texture transfer brush in BS3D. They both can only convert a texture map from an identical character with different UVs. I did test G3F to G3M with texture transfer brush,it does not work. For the moment, I have no solution to your question. Maybe someone else can explain how to transfer between different characters.

Thanks folks. What I did was piece things together and got what I needed. Thank god I'm proficient in Photoshop! LOL
