Description

This is a two month journey into scifi that I started for the CGTalk Challenge. I know full well I'm not going to win that, but no one's stopping me from being a big fish in a small pond. And compared to CGTalk, R'osity is a small pond. We have our own incredible artists that post there as well, people like Rochr, for instance. But I could never compare myself with his natural talent. The work above was created through blood, sweat and tears. Okay, more like sweat. Blood too, since I got a paper cut from one of the original drawings :D It's not perfect, but it taught me a lot of things about postwork and Bryce. I hope you like it, the buildings that you see here are submitted for approval as FREEBIES. Yes, free, in Bryce format. The only difference is that I submitted them with default lighting instead of Rochr's excellent (and free via the Bryce forum) city lights trans map. Enjoy and respect them. drac

Win or not, it's still an epic piece. Well designed, constructed and lit and we've all been behind you on this one. I think you tackled the challenge more in the Rosity Bryce Forum spirit of community rather than the CGTalk spirit of slagging each other off. (IMHO) I say it's a winner. VOTE (If for nothing else the blood and tears you've donated for the cause)

What really makes the city look real is how the clouds have a smoggish-glow towards the city. I'm curious on how you did that beautiful spiral shape around that light pillar. Beautiful picture.

You know I was here once, really doesn't look as nice as you made it look. The traffic is usually terrible and the ozone depletory doesnt seem to be working today! Great Work!

Its been great to watch this twitch along to its inspiring conclusion. Awesome work - the effort you put into the lighting and modelling really work together well. In recognition of this work, we now bestow upon you the name of Drachr.

Props to ya Drac... this turned out to be an awesome image. The modeling is exquisite. The lighting and clouds are just right. Regardless if it wins or not at CGTalk.... It surely gets my VOTE here. I think it is a winner. You have done some really fine work with this image.... Robby looks as if he is enjoying the view as well. 8)

Yeah, CGTalk are bunch of arrogant artists thinking that they're the elite group. You have done us proud here! Keep on pushing the limits, cuz I know you can do it over and over again here with full support!

I fully agree with Zfigure7! I don't think i'll challenge that........hold me, i'm scared. the things flying on the left side look like mouses for the computer.........I guess that would be mice.

well, that's great! Your modeling is gorgeous, bloody gorgeus - I think you olde vampire'll have to bite a lot of young female humans now to restore the lost blood ;)
