Description

14 hours to render.....This is my first out of world space venture, I don't think I will land back on earth anytime soon, I am truly enjoying all of the possibilities. The planet in the distance is my first attempt at such, much learning to do and I have had an idea that may help me though. No post work All constructive crits welcome and appreciated!

Bryce is good for space scenes. A couple of tips you might find useful in future. If you want to depicit a moon as it might look from a world with an atmosphere, go into the materials editor lower the diffusion and from the drop down menu at the top right select "additive". This makes the planet look as though it is behind the sky instead of in front of it. A second tip is for planetry rings. They look best if the texture on them is concentric. Try this tutorial:- http://www.petersharpe.com/Tutorial30.htm Peter Sharpe also has some other good tutorials on his site for space scenes.

Thanks idezioJr, I have this thing for color myself......only now I have to hold back, you don't find too many in space.....DMFW, I have been playing with the tutorial, amazing wealth of info there. Soon as work allows and play time resumes.....Engage! :)

save you some rendering time .... http://www.upallnitestudios.com/html/tutorial1.html and to get a gap between the planet and the rings simply include a sphere slightly bigger than the planet but smaller than the rings and in attributes make the rings positive and the sphere negative while keeping the planet neutral...i`ll stick an example on my gallery tomorrow... keep up the good work!
