Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Well done!

the flickr shot is an example of fine perfume photography, darkly lit with golden glow and highlights, letting the bottles stand out. This, on the other hand, is postworked with your best colonies and edge work, and it gives a whole new geological life to the bottles (and box, etc). In full zoom---which is larger than a large monitor, but fully worth it---we see how it transforms the reflections, the bottle tops, the liquids, shadows, etc. In the center bottle, the shadow is a multi-tiered affair, with wonderful ambers to the left, and blues on the right. The bottom is broken into whole shorelines and strata...this is a very rich image, full size. Even mid size, it's filled with layers and colonies. I love your perfume series (as you know), and I love this treatment. Put it in the book with all the others: I'll be by in January to pick it up. £20,000 sound ok? It's worth every pound...) I love it.

Fantastic shot and postwork. I still need a Christmas present for my wife... ;o)

Beautifully presented as always. Being my mother's son I appreciate a bargain although I would question the maker's knowledge of geography. Timbuktu is in West Africa.

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

Beautifully done and perfect subtlety of postwork to show off the colors.

I'm glad they smell good, 'cause the names are weird! Bitter Water, My Number, and (as Mark says) Timbuktu, which is a city in Africa. What these have to do with the East is, indeed, a mystery! LOL!
It's no mystery to me why I like the picture, though. You're a master at this sort of photography, and I love the series.

Timbuktu has always been an enticing foreign destination..
Happy New Year.

Sounds like they smell as good as they look in the beautiful bottles with interesting Titles.
