Description
Inspired by the paintings of Jun Suemi. His favorite themes are: monsters, handsome long-haired gentlemen with swords, beautiful Elf girls, and soldiers. OK, so I got three out of four! Maybe I'll do the Elf girl later.
I lost count of the number of layers in this. It's by far the most complex image I've attempted so far, and I am less than totally happy with the result. But as Ralph (Vintorix) pointed out recently, you have to call a halt to it sometime, and move on. So, I'm declaring this "done" and presenting it to you for your critiques. If anyone has suggestions on how it could have been improved, I'm all ears.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Please take a minute and look at the full-size version, and feel free to leave a comment. I read and appreciate all your critiques. They are what keep me going.

His stance is perfectly natural, and his expression is similar to Michelangelo's David, "Rejection of convenience"!. The mysterious alien stone statue in the back and the soldiers silhouette creates mystery. One of your best! I love the ambition behind it.
